The Mindful Child…
We are starting this year with a new approach to mindfulness. Continuing with our once a week yoga sessions, each day will now begin with a 20 minute CONNECT session, where teachers will do Mindfulness with their kids, an opportunity to CONNECT with them.
Then each day will end with a 10 minute REFLECT session, where kids will either discuss or journal how their day went, the good, the bad, the ugly, whether they are MIND, BODY or SOUL highs or lows.
Why you may ask… Habits formed early in life will inform behaviours in adulthood. Mindfulness develops compassion, focus, curiosity and empathy, helping children to manage their emotions and tackle challenges. It also brings a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment.

Connecting children to nature & developing inquisitive minds!!!
Every Tuesday for the past 5 weeks Mrs. Webb took her Grade 3 and 4 class to spend time in first-hand local mangrove ecosystems. Spending time in the Mangroves provided them with countless opportunities for discovery, creativity & problem-solving allowing them to learn, experiment, think, question, and have fun at the same time!
The children learned about the various species of mangroves, the rich biodiversity that such ecosystems support and how they can play a role in protecting mangroves for generations to come.
A child who appreciates the wonder of nature also appreciates the necessity to protect nature!
