Inhaca is an island located at the entrance to Maputo Bay, in southern Mozambique, with geographic coordinates of 26ºS latitude and 33ºE longitude. It has an area of 42 km² and a north-south dimension of 12.5 km (between Ponta Mazondue, to the north, and Ponta Torres, to the south) and 7 km east-west. It is located 32 km east of the city of Maputo, of which the municipality is administratively part, constituting a municipal district, the KaNyaka district

Established in 1960, the Maputo Special Reserve, known by many as the Elephant Reserve, is located in the District of Matutuíne, in Maputo Province. With an extension of 1040 km2, its natural landscape holds wonderful forests of sandy soil and mangroves, swamps and parabolic dunes covered with vegetation. The elephant is the Reserve's most charismatic species, although visitors can also spot zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of antelopes and birds such as the famous osprey. Along the coast, you can find accommodation prepared to welcome visitors who can combine a taste for fauna and a refreshing dip in its beaches with clear waters.
