Lüderitz is home to the historic Felsenkirche (Church on the Rock), a landmark with an interesting history. The Felsenkirche was built between 1911 and 1912 during the German colonial period. It is perched on Diamond Hill, overlooking the town and the Atlantic Ocean.

The coast near Lüderitz is home to a variety of wildlife.

Marine life includes-heavy side dolphins, seals and whales. Penguins, and various bird species can also be spotted. Jackals and hyena scavenge along the beaches and oryx, and springboks can also be seen in the area.

Definitely add Lüderitz to your Namibia itinerary!

Lüderitz: Definitely a place where you need to hold on to your hats!

Did you know the town is famous in the windsurfing and kitesurfing community for hosting the Speed Challenge, where world speed records are often set due to the favorable wind conditions. Our Lüderitz sign would call is less-favourable though! Not to worry, she's under construction and will be fixed up soon!
