Quads listens to my command to sit and lie down? Does your domestic cat listen to by sitting down or lying down.
Here I’m with Quasa who is 6 years old. An orphan cheetah who’s mother was shot when he was still a cub. He learned to eat from a bowl to ensure he gets the right quantity of meat and to prevent his brother Clyd from stealing his food.
Namibian farmers shoot cheetah because they attack their sheep and goats killing not only one but sometimes 8 or so. Cheetah cubs need 2 - 3 years to learn hunting skills from there mothers in the wild and to know who there enemies are like lion , leopard , wild dogs and spotted hyena.
Cheetah in the wild only reach the maximum age of 8-9 years. Orphan cheetah like Quasa can reach the age of 20 years. Quasa eats 1,8 kg of meat daily. The meat is sprinkled with powder to provide the necessary vitamins and minerals.
Namibia has the highest wild cheetah population in the world. There are only plus minus 7500 wild cheetah left in the wild in the world of which Namibia is proud to protect plus minus 3500 cheetah in the wild.
Orphan Cheetah like Quasa live long lives due to good care and a non stressful life. Quasa enjoys 22 hectares of land to run and play freely. He gets regular veterinary care, lots of love and tender care.
Fortunately wild cheetah are being translocated to preserve this big cat from going instinct. Namibia and India have a translocation program and shortly 12 cheetah will be reintroduced into the wild in India. Namibia 🇳🇦 🤝India🇮🇳

Leopards and spotted hyenas typically do not feed together. While they may occasionally scavenge from the same carcass, they are not known to actively hunt or share kills with each other. Spotted hyenas are formidable predators in their own right and often compete with leopards for prey.

However, there have been instances where a dominant hyena might steal a kill from a leopard, but it’s not a cooperative feeding situation.
Lions are known to attack and sometimes kill other predators, especially when they perceive them as competition for food or territory. Lions are apex predators and are territorial, so they may confront and even kill other predators such as hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs if they encroach on their territory or threaten their food sources. These interactions can vary depending on the specific circumstances and the relative strength of the animals involved.

Follow👉IG @bigcatsnamibia Now !!! No Regrets !!LEOPARDS (Panthera pardus) are considered by many to be pound for pound the most athletic of big cats. These cats are able to bring prey that sometimes weighs more than they do up into trees to prevent it from being taken by other predators.
Though leopards are considered the most elusive of Africa’s “Big Five” (elephants, lions, buffalo, rhinos, leopards), they are the most adaptable and distributed of Africa’s big cats. I have actually seen one crossing a street just outside of Nairobi. Leopards are the best tree climbers of all of the Panthera cats and are often spotted lounging on a high horizontal branch where they can get a get a good overview of their surroundings while staying safe from lions and hyenas.

Some females, generally mother and offspring or siblings, may rest beside one another during the day. Females tend to lead a solitary life or live with offspring in undefended home ranges; young females often stay close to their mothers for life but young males leave their mother’s range to live elsewhere.
Females typically disperse over large areas in pursuit of prey, but they are less nomadic and roam in a smaller area if prey availability in the area is high. As such, the size of their home range depends on the distribution of prey in a region. In central Namibia, where most prey species are sparsely distributed, home ranges average 554–7,063 km2 .

Follow👉 @bigcatsnamibia Now !!! No Regrets !! Lion vs Crocodile - Respect Is Earned! Fierce predators usually adhere to mutual respect since each can harm or even kill the other.
Still, crocs and lions share some habitats, and a clash once in a while is inevitable. A crocodile may attack a lion that gets into the water, while lions may hunt and eat younger crocs.
Fights between adult lions and crocodiles are motivated mainly by predators’ desire to steal the other’s food. Lions are usually the aggressors, but these fights are rare.
The size difference makes it difficult for a lion to injure the croc without risking its life, especially if the fight is in water. The croc could grab the lion with its powerful jaws and drown it.
A lion could kill a younger crocodile, but the fight will likely be vicious. Such a fight usually lasts hours and leaves both animals with fatal injuries.
But, if two or more lions attack a crocodile, the equation shifts to favor the lion. Lions could launch a calculated attack that will see them stay away from the crocs’ strike zone and attack the croc’s vulnerable areas.

It’s extremely graphic and disturbing, but a baboon eating a newborn gazelle while it’s still alive shows quite a common behaviour.
They even hunt. Baboons will capture small mammals and birds opportunistically including rabbits, birds like Egyptian geese and small antelope lambs. It is usually the more dominant males who will hunt and eat meat.

Follow👉 @bigcatsnamibia namibia Now! Tom & Jerry !! This may be why you see indoor kitties playing with what they catch. It’s normal for all cats to hunt mice. You might think it’s gross, but your cat thinks it’s fun!
📸 @shaun_malan_photography
Cats do indeed eat mice, as well as rats, other small mammals, and birds. The act of cats ‘playing’ with their food is so that they can hone their hunting skills, just as the big cats in wild do.
A cat will appear to play with a tiny animal before killing it. While it appears that the cat is being cruel, it is behaving out of self-preservation rather than malice.
While hunting rodents, cats play with their prey to sedate it before delivering a deadly blow, which can be perilous. Mice and rats will bite one other to stay alive. This might cause cat pain or spread sickness. Small animals get weary or wounded when they play with prey by hitting or tossing it. After then, the cat can safely kill and end a hunt.

Credits @javan.guddy

Killing cubs accelerates the onset of oestrus in pride females and so is likely to increase the reproductive success of incoming males.
Mate, protect, fight. These are the three tenets most male animals live and die by in the animal kingdom and this could not be truer for male lions. When male lions are in the prime of their lives somewhere between 5 and 9 years of age they will attempt to have as many cubs as they can. And they will do their best to protect and guard over as many prides as possible.
But there is a fine line between holding tenure over many different prides, and successfully being able to defend them and their young. When fights do breakout between male lions they are usually over territorial and breeding rights.

Follow👉IG @bigcatsnamibia Now ! We are seeing adaption in face of a rapidly changing arctic before our eyes. In Svalbard, polar bears face the harsh reality of lack of sea ice/habitat and opportunities to hunt seals on the sea ice pack. When their main food source becomes less accessible, what do they do? Some bears have looked to other possible food sources, like reindeer.
Credits @liannanixon
Polar bears and reindeer have generally coexisted on Svalbard for many decades. But now that more polar bears see reindeer more frequently on the menu, what happens?
1. When polar bears master hunting reindeer, can the isolated Svalbard reindeer population could be at risk? How will bear-reindeer interactions change and will reindeer become more responsive to these changes now that they have an active predator?
2. Reindeer are much leaner and do not have the same nutrients and calories a polar bear needs nutritionally.
3. Polar bears are marine mammals, not necessarily meant for terrestrial hunting tactics, which means they may use more energy than the calories that come from the reindeer. This still needs more research and understanding.
4. We learn much more about polar bears and the Arctic food web, from how they learn these new hunting tactics, and how they teach them to their young.
