OTJIWARONGO IS NAMIBIA TOWN OF THE YEAR!🥳

The Municipality of Otjiwarongo would like to thank all the voters for choosing Otjiwarongo as their favourite town.Your well appreciated votes catapulted Otjiwarongo into winning the coveted crown of Namibia Town of the Year 2023 (NTY).

As the previous winner of NTY in 2017, the team was cognizant of the hardwork and sweat that goes in to the journey leading up to the crowning event as well as the stiff competition from the other towns.Hence, we extend our gratitude to both Swakopmund Municipality and Oranjemund Town Council for their sportmanship.

We also recognise, acknowledge and appreciate our local business fraternity who sponsored the following items as give-away prizes to our voters.

Casa Forno Restaurant, Hotel and Conference Centre for sponsoring dinner for 2 to the value of N$ 500;

C'est Si Bon Hotel & Conference Centre for sponsoring 1 night's accommofation for 2;

Kings Taxidermy for sponsoring the Cheetah for exhibition at the stall;

FabuPharm Namibia for sponsoring Fabupharm products hamper;

In 2017, Egypt 🇪🇬 was not among the Top 10 African Countries with the best roads. They were ranked 107th globally behind Zimbabwe.

✍️Five years later in 2022, they are ranked number 2 in Africa after Namibia and 28th globally.

✍️Egypt’s remarkable achievement is attributed to the national road project launched in August 6, 2014.

✍️The state embarked on the construction of bridges, interchanges and new road network with lengths of 7,000 km at a total cost of $211 billion.

✍️The project is believed to have resulted in a decrease in the rates of road accident by 41 percent, the injuries by more than 50 percent and the mortality rate.
