UPDATE: SAA strike

Updated 15 Nov 2019 @ 09:55
SAA workers have commenced with their strike today, Eye Witness News reports.

Unions and their members are gathering at different airports across the country.

Airports in Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth are affected by the strike.

Travellers should be aware of the strikes happening at the various airports, even when travelling on a different airline.

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) and the South African Cabin Crew Association (Sacca) plan to embark on industrial action against SAA, starting Friday, November 15, eTNW reports.

The planned strike has prompted South African Airways (SAA) to cancel nearly all domestic, regional and international flights scheduled for November 15 and 16.

The airline says that customers will be kept informed of all operational developments on a daily basis.
