Travellers to South Africa will now be screened for monkeypox at all ports of entry in response to 13 cases reported in the country, reports Travel News. ( 28 June 24)
The screening process starts when the captain of the aircraft and crew members provide a general declaration of health, stating that no travellers are ill on board.
Travellers will then undergo thermal screening and if they have a high temperature, they will be isolated and assisted with further screening. The Port Health Officer will also conduct a general observation of the affected traveller.

There is a time for everything and every season. 2022 was indeed a year of many seasons.
This year was different in many ways. Instead of looking at pre-covid data and ways
we had to adapt to a new normal - once again. New strategies, new travel requirements and a new way of doing things.
Challenging? Yes! Worth it? Absolutely!
This year was a new beginning for the travel industry.
It was the year of travel-hungry clients, holidays, symposiums and business men and women traveling and rebuilding business relationships.
Once again, we fell in love with travel.
This is why we decided that instead of the usual year-end function, our team got together for an intimate year-end celebration.
We celebrated 2022 and its many seasons.
I listened to the conversation around the table and noticed that we're excitingly chatting about different destinations! Once again the world is our oyster.
We celebrated our industry. We celebrated our clients, for without our clients we can not live our love of travel.
We celebrated each other. We faced many challenges. We celebrated many victories and triumphs. And we did it together.
This year was a lesson. A lesson of love, a lesson of growth and a lesson of gratitude. And a lesson to prepare us for what is to come.
