Two hours away from , we find ourselves in the , located in a remote village of called Musanze.

It is found in the northern part of the country, on the foothills of Virunga Volcano Massif, which is shared among Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Volcanoes National Park is the only place in the world where can be found, alongside the surrounding National Parks of the surrounding countries, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park in , and Virunga National Park in the .

This area is largely considered an unexplored gem where you definitely won’t have to contend with crowds. The is also considered to have come leaps and bounds in the last two decades when it comes to sustainable tourism – not only has the park grown significantly in size and succeeded in bolstering its gorilla population from 254 to over 600, local communities are also benefiting directly through a revenue-sharing scheme, as well as multiple projects that provide both infrastructure and opportunities.

We enjoyed viewing some of these insanely majestic places!

Today we find ourselves in North West on the banks of one of the world’s greatest wetland, the .

As part of the Great East African Rift Valley system, the Okavango Delta is formed as the Okavango River flows into the from the Angolan highlands, creating a unique inland wetland, a huge oasis that sets the region’s rhythm with its annual pulses.

Intricate networks of winding channels and glassy lagoons are found in the delta which can be explored on board a sleek, motorised boat that covers great distances, showcasing magnificent views of the watery landscape. The unique perspective from the boat offers great sightings of water birds, such as ponderous herons, colourful bee-eaters, solemn owls and jewelled kingfishers.

A number of spaces caught our eye, the Duba Expedition Camp, Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, Camp Okavango and Xudum Okavango Lodge.
