What a week!

Gregory has been busy introducing the best of Namibia to the Asian market, starting in Beijing and now in Singapore at ITB Asia with our partners Only One Travel.

Meanwhile Jesse is busy spreading the word about Namibia and Lark Journeys to the US market in Miami at WTE Miami with Namibia Tourism Board.

It's a tough job but someone's got to do it!

We've got good news for this spotted hyena as tomorrow is a public holiday in Namibia as we commemorate Heroes Day.

Stops along the C35 road to meet the local communities are just another aspect of what makes a Namibian safari so fascinating.

At the Ugab Bridge, the local Herero women have set up their market stall where they make (with their classic Singer sewing machines) and sell their goods. Everything from bags to table runners to little doll replicas of themselves (which we think make for the best Namibian souvenir).

If you are planning a trip through Damaraland then a stop here is a MUST! The people are friendly, their items are well priced and if you spend a minute getting to know them you can leave with more than just a souvenir, but some amazing memories of the Namibian people.

Way out west where the elephants roam...

Namibia is just 1 of 2 countries in the world where you can find desert adapted elephant 🐘🐘🐘, and a drive into the ephemeral river systems of Damaraland and the Kunene region is a must do if you want a chance to spend some time in the presence of these gentle giants.

Happy World Giraffe Day!

On the 21st June, the longest night (or day) of the year for the tallest animal.

The giraffe is an iconic part of every Namibian safari and so of course we need to celebrate and say a special thanks to our friends at the Giraffe Conservation Foundation for the incredible work they do all over Africa.

Not only do they save giraffe, but they also work hard to conserve the ecosystem in which 🦒🦒🦒 and all other wildlife roam, conduct ongoing research to better understand giraffe and the landscapes in which they thrive, provide amazing environmental education programmes to the local communities to name just a few things.

Ondudu Safari Lodge offers a little bit of magic in the Erongo Mountains. Known for incredible hiking trails, stunning nature drives, amazing sunsets and generally just an ideal place to kick back and relax for a couple of days, it's worth adding a few nights here when exploring Namibia.

Boat cruises along the rivers and through the wetlands of northern Namibia are the absolute best. We spotted this Little bee-eater while cruising the Kavango River, just one of many incredible bird sightings on the river that day.
