THE WHITE HOUSE , Washington DC 🇺🇸

The White House is the President's private home for the sitting President of the United States of America. It is also the only private residence of a head of state that is open to the public, free of charge.

For Two Hundred Years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people.

Its history, and the history of the nation's capital, began when President George Washington signed an Act of Congress in December of 1790 declaring that the federal government would reside in a district "not exceeding ten miles square…on the river Potomac." President Washington, together with city planner Pierre L'Enfant, chose the site for the new residence, which is now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As preparations began for the new federal city, a competition was held to find a builder of the "President's House." Nine proposals were submitted, and Irish-born architect James Hoban won a gold medal for his practical and handsome design.

Construction began when the first cornerstone was laid in October of 1792. Although President Washington oversaw the construction of the house, he never lived in it. It was not until 1800, when the White House was nearly completed, that its first residents, President John Adams and his wife, Abigail, moved in. Since that time, each President has made his own changes and additions.

The White House has a unique and fascinating history. It survived a fire at the hands of the British in 1814 (during the war of 1812) and another fire in the West Wing in 1929, while Herbert Hoover was President. Throughout much of Harry S. Truman's presidency, the interior of the house, with the exception of the third floor, was completely gutted and renovated while the Trumans lived at Blair House, right across Pennsylvania Avenue. Nonetheless, the exterior stone walls are those first put in place when the White House was constructed two centuries ago.

Presidents can express their individual style in how they decorate some parts of the house and in how they receive the public during their stay. Thomas Jefferson held the first Inaugural open house in 1805. Many of those who attended the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol simply followed him home, where he greeted them in the Blue Room.

In addition, he welcomed visitors to annual receptions on New Year's Day and on the Fourth of July. In 1829, a horde of 20,000 Inaugural callers forced President Andrew Jackson to flee to the safety of a hotel while, on the lawn, aides filled washtubs with orange juice and whiskey to lure the mob out of the mud-tracked White House"

Montreal Clock Tower was Built from 1919-1922. Also known as Tour de l’Horlodge (Sailor's Memorial Clock)

The Tower Was Erected to Commemorate the Merchant Navy Sailors who Died During the First World War. The Tower is Crowned with a Spectacular Clock and a Lamp Guiding Ships.

The Clock itself was Built in Croydon, England by the Firm of Gillett & Johnston, and its Mechanism is Similar to that Found on the Big Ben Clock in London.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦️ & New York, USA 🇺🇸

Niagara Falls is a Group of Three Waterfalls that are Located on the Niagara River, which Runs Between the State of New York in the United States of America and the Province of Ontario in Canada.

The Falls are Composed of the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls are Located Mostly on the Canadian Side of the Border, while the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls are Located Entirely on the American Side, Separated by Goat Island and Luna Island, respectively.

These Falls were formed by Glacial Activity about 10,000 Years Ago, and the International Border between the USA and Canada Runs through the Horseshoe Falls.

According to Niagara Falls State Park, Horseshoe Falls is 2,500 Feet Wide or 762 Meters. American Falls is 850 Feet Wide (260 Meters). Lastly, Bridal Veil Falls is 50 Feet Wide (15 Meters).

Overall, Horseshoe Falls is much Wider than the Two Smaller Waterfalls combined. In fact, Horseshoe Falls accounts for about 90% of the Water Flow from the Niagara River! American and Bridal Veil Falls combined only account for roughly 10% of the Water Flow from the River.

In Cold Weather, the Falls can Freeze Over, Creating Ice Formations along the Banks of the River and Falls. This happened in 1811, 912, when Niagara Falls saw Record Low Temperatures and the Longest Stretch of Below-Zero Weather in a Single Winter, causing the Falls to Freeze so densely that people were able to cross on Ice Bridges.

In 1848, Niagara Falls Froze Over, causing the River to become completely blocked with Ice also in 1911, the Falls Froze Completely, Attracting Many Visitors and Becoming a Popular Tourist Attraction.

Liberty Island - Statue of Liberty, New York City 🇺🇸

Officially dedicated on October 28, 1886, the Statue of Liberty is one of the Symbols of New York and one of the Most Famous Sculptures on Earth.

It is located on Liberty Island at the entrance of the Port of New York and New Jersey.

The Huge Neoclassical Cooper Monument is 151 Feet (46 Meters) Tall but together with the Pedestal, It Rises 305 Feet (93 Meters) above the Ground.

Designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and Built by Gustave Eiffel, the Sculpture is a Symbol of Freedom and is a Gift from France to the United States to Commemorate the Friendship Between the Nations.

On October 15, 1924, the Statue was Declared a National Monument.

In 1984, it was Added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Travellers won’t need to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding a flight to Australia.

Travellers will still need to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration and provide evidence of their vaccination status prior to coming to Australia. Unvaccinated travellers will still need to be in an exempt category or hold an individual travel exemption to enter Australia.

Unvaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents will be able to leave Australia without an individual travel exemption, but you may still be asked by an official about your vaccination status.

Resident Return visa applications must now be submitted via ImmiAccount, unless the Department allows you to submit otherwise.

If you are overseas or wish to travel outside Australia when the 5-year travel facility of your permanent visa ends, you need a Resident Return visa (RRV) to come back to Australia as a permanent resident.
