Senate President Godswill Akpabio has cautioned Senator Osita Ngwu for praising the beauty of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu during a ministerial screening on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Wednesday.

Bianca, like six other ministerial nominees screened by the Senate, read her credentials before the red chamber and was subsequently quizzed by the lawmakers. She was screened for the post of Minister of State Foreign Affairs.

When Akpabio opened the floor for questions, Ngwu, who currently serves as the Senator representing Enugu West District in the 10th National Assembly, started by applauding Bianca’s beauty to which he attracted a rebuke.

“Mr President, the beautiful nominee standing before us,” the lawmaker said.

The conversation between Ngwu and Akpabio caused a ripple of laughter among Senators. Ngwu thereafter proceeded to laud the profile and competence of the nominee.

On his part, Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Senator representing Abia South District, said Biance’s competence and ability to perform was not in doubt.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for nominating the “mother” of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as a minister. “By bringing an APGA person to be a minister has already started a unity government and national integration,” Abaribe said.

The nominee was subsequently asked to take a bow.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is an accomplished diplomat, lawyer, businesswoman and beauty pageant titleholder.

In 2011, then President Goodluck Jonathan appointed Bianca as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs. She later became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and later Ambassador to the Kingdom Of Spain. She is Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

The widow of former Biafra warlord Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is a multiple international pageant titleholder.

Former APC Chieftain, Moghalu, Joins LP, Strategizes Ahead By-Election for Late Senator Ubah’s Seat, Anambra 2025

Barely one month after dumping the All Progressive Congress (APC), the immediate-past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has settled for the Labour Party (LP).

The ex-APC stalwart perfected the defection on Tuesday, October 2, when he was received into his new party at his ward, Uruagu Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, by the party executives.

It was gathered that Chief Moghalu, during the event, filled his membership form, and also got presented with LP membership card amidst solidarity.

According to a statement issued by Dr. Moghalu’s media team, GNM; while the leadership of LP in the area expressed optimism that Moghalu’s entrance into the party will boost LP’s chances of winning major elections going forward, especially with the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial by-election to replace late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah; Moghalu, on his own part, said LP was better suited to champion his ideal and principles, which was why he settled for it after thorough evaluation and careful of consultations.

The statement reads: “The immediate-past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr George N. Moghalu, has on Tuesday, in Uruagu-Nnewi, joined the Labour Party.

“Dr. Moghalu, a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) who had earlier resigned from the party some weeks ago, was received by the Ward Chairman, Executives and Local government Chairman of Labour Party Chapter in Uruagu Nnewi, where after filling the party form, was presented with Labour Party Membership card.

“Speaking at the event, the Ward Chairman described Dr. Moghalu as a patriotic technocrat, and a down to earth man; saying that he was excited to welcome him into the party as he had over the years shown himself to be a creative, prudent and resourceful administrator as his entrance will boost the party’s chances of winning major elections going forward especially with the incoming Anambra South Senatorial election which the party has to show capacity.

“Dr. George Moghalu who spoke at the event said: I have resolved to join the labour party (LP) after a thorough evaluation and careful consultation of the members of my family, community, supporters and other critical stakeholders of the state and I have come to the conclusion that the Labour Party is better suited to champion my ideals and principles as the party aligns with my core values and commitment as well as multifaceted perspective, with a profound dedication to the welfare of citizens.

“Dr. Moghalu pledged to work harmoniously with the leaders and chieftains of the party in forging a better political culture that unites, inspires, and serves the greater good.

“The event was witnessed by Uruagu Nnewi Ward 1 Chairman, Executives, Nnewi North Local Government party Chairman, 2023 Nnewi North Labour Party House of Assembly Candidate, some stakeholders of the party, friends and political associates, who were present to welcome Chief Dr. George Moghalu to Labour Party.”

It would be recalled that, upon his resignation from APC, speculations emerged of Chief Moghalu’s intention to replace and take over the vacant seat left by late Senator Ubah of Anambra South, who is also from Nnewi.

However, his media team, then outrightly debunked and dismissed the speculations and publications as fake and gossip from the gutters of crass journalism, emphasizing that he (Chief Moghalu) never, for one day, nursed feeling to contest for the position left by Senator Ubah, as his main focus and passion remain fixed on serving as a Governor.

HON ENGR. DOM OKAFOR PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGUATA YOUTHS/YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH SPORT: SAYS COMR. EZEKAFOR (OO1 AGUATA YOUTHS).

On Saturday 10th August, 2024 marked the grand finale of the 5-day *Dominic Okafor Badminton Outreach* for Secondary Schools in Aguata Federal Constituency, organized by the Member Representing Aguata Federal Constituency; Hon. Engr. Okafor (Ezechinyerugo).

The successful event which took place at Agbaelu Hall, Akpo, had members of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Aguata Chapter ably led by the Cordinator; Comr. Ezekafor D A Mmaduabuchi (OO1 AGUATA YOUTHS).
Speaking at the event, the NYCN Aguata Cordinator; Comr. Ezekafor who happens to be the Chairman of the event appreciated the Federal lawmaker, saying that Engr. Dominic Okafor have demonstrated his intention in youth/young people capacity building, scouting and development of sporting talents, which the maiden 2024 Badminton outreach is a testament/evidence. He also recalled that last year, the Federal lawmaker hosted Aguata Harmony football tournament in Aguata Constituency in which football talents were harnessed and promoted, and now the Badminton Outreach which had 28 schools cut across Aguata in participation.

The outreach provided each participating school with essential badminton kits, including four rackets, a net, a pack of shuttlecocks, and a cash donation of ₦150,000 to support the continued development of badminton in the 28 secondary schools across Aguata.
In a special gesture of support, Hon. Dr. Vincent Okpala, former Commissioner for Health in Anambra State and a renowned medical consultant based in Houston, Texas, donated ₦10,000 to each participating school. Dr. Okpala, an indigene of Akpo community, also pledged to sponsor a future badminton cup competition in Aguata, further encouraging the youth to pursue excellence in the sport.

The Anambra State sport commission who monitored the 5-day Dominic Okafor Badminton outreach enlisted some young people to join the junior team of Anambra Badminton team, for further training and exposure.

Truly Aguata Youths (NYCN) acknowledged these impactful strives and encourage Hon. Engr. Dom Okafor to keep showing capacity/greater impact. Aguata Youths will have greater joy if more youths with sporting talents are aided to play for higher clubs and state/ national /international team especially in the two games of football and badminton.

APGA STATE WOMAN LEADER; HON MRS ONYEKESI PLAYS HOST TO APGA WOMEN EXECUTIVES OF AGUATA

The state woman leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); Hon. Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi yesterday played host to all the APGA women executives of all the words in Aguata including the LG women excos.
It was an all important meeting cm interactive session, where she interacted with the APGA Women executives.

Addressing the women, Mrs Onyekesi thanked the women executives of APGA for coming, commended their efforts so far in championing the course of the party APGA in their various wards. Furthermore, she explained that the essence of the meeting is also to bring their knowledge that there's still more work to do, she encouraged them to take the lead of evangelising about the good works out governor; Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Also there is need to come together and embark on aggressive member mobilization for the success of APGA in the forth coming election, as we all know politics is about number. Again our leader the governor with all these his infrastructural projects littered across Anambra State, have given us instruments or reasons to campaign for his re-election of governor Soludo, she said.

Mrs. Onyekesi eulogizing governor Soludo highlighted the numerous projects on going across the state, precisely the gigantic projects the governor is carrying out in Aguata. She urged the women to go down to their various wards, brace up and take the responsibility of preaching APGA to every nooks and crannies.

Present during the meeting is the Matron of the APGA Aguata women executives;Hon. Mrs Mercy Okafor (Madam Winco), who equally advised them be good ambassadors and apostles of the party.

Alor Monarch Celebrates 10th Year On The Throne, 2024 New Yam Festival

It was merriment galore at Alor in Idemili South Local Government Area, when Igwe MacAnthony Okonkwo played fellow traditional rulers, top government functionaries, friends and his subjects who came in different parts of state and beyond as he celebrated his 10th year on the throne and the 2024 new yam festival of the community.

The event was kicked off with an inter-denominational church thanksgiving service where the traditional ruler praised God for giving him success on the royal throne of the community and for giving the community a bountiful harvest.

Speaking during the interdenominational service, Reverend Father Emmanuel Ugbaja said that leadership is an opportunity to evangelise and replicate Christlike lifestyle to all categories of people and subjects, and commended Igwe Okonkwo for his dedication and commitment to the things of God.

Later in a speech before the ceremonial cutting of the new yam, Igwe Okonwo thanked God for the abundant harvest this year and prayed for bigger harvests in future and remarked on the importance of everyone involved in agriculture as a way to end hunger and starvation.

Igwe Okonkwo with songs of praise expressed gratitude to God for giving him good health and another opportunity to celebrate another new yam celebration and revealed that prayers has kept him and his subject through all these years.

He also prayed for peace and immeasurable blessings upon Alor community, Anambra and Nigeria.

The Chairman, Anambra Central Traditional Rulers' Council and traditional ruler of Ifitedunu, Igwe Emeka Ilouno and the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu acknowledged that new yam festival unites communities and is a great opportunity to motivate and encourage younger people to venture into farming to reduce the cost of food produce and other commodities in the market while improving the economy of the community, the state and the country in general.

They prayed God to give Igwe Okonkwo for good health and blessings upon Alor community.

For Mr. Amobi Ekwueme, he was happy to celebrate with Igwe Okonkwo, adding that the Alor Monarch is a natural traditional ruler whose large heart connects across countries thus the importance to pay homage to him and have his blessings.

The Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu and President General of Building Materials International Market Ogidi, Chief Jude Nwankwo were among other dignitaries that took turns to pay homage to Igwe Okonkwo and celebrate with Alor community.

Pastor Fatoyinbo And His N2B Car Convoy

Take a close look at this car convoy. It consists of two Rolls Royce (a Phantom and a Ghost), a Range Rover Vogue, and four Mercedes Benz GL 450. The market value of the cars is more than N2 billion.
The cars belong to Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo, the presiding Pastor at the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Abuja.
Every Sunday (like today), he goes to Church in this convoy. He sits in the white Rolls Royce Phantom, the Rolls Royce Ghost follows as a spare car, and the Range Rover conveys his aides.

Pastor Fatoyinbo is known for his sartorial sense of style, carriage, and composure. He is a preacher of prosperity who abhors mediocrity. As such, COZA is a gathering of some of the most successful and upwardly mobile people of the Christian fold in Abuja.

Aside from pastoring the flock in God's Vineyard, Pastor Fatoyinbo and his wife run several flourishing businesses from Abuja to Lagos and Ilorin. In addition to these luxury vehicles captured here, he also owns several other eye-popping articles of desire, some of which are said to be gifts from members.

It was yesterday at the country home of Jowizazaa father, the MD/CEO of Jezco Group of Company; Chief Dr. Sir J.J Ezeokafor Ezeudo Aguata/(Nwachinemelu Ekwulobia) as he welcomed the Rangers International Football Club when the Board and Management Team visited, lead by their Chairman; Barr. Amobi Ezeaku.

Speaking on the essence of the visit, the Chairman of Rangers FC; Bar. Ezeaku said that Ezeudo is one of the persons that spurred them to the winning, hence the visit and presentation of the trophy to Ezeudo Aguata. Due to his support, magnanimity, and love for football, they conferred on him the Patron of Ranger Football Club.

The Chairman made it clear that Rangers FC is not just Enugu State Football Club but for the entire Igbos, thus it is the Igbo football identity. He assured ndi Ekwulobia that Rangers FC is willing to take up some Ekwulobia persons who has knowledge and is football friendly, train them to be Rangers Football players courtesy of Ezeudo Aguata;Chief Sir J.J Ezeokafor.

Receiving the delegation of Rangers FC, Ezeudo Aguata commended them for showing resilience towards winning the trophy. He encouraged the Chairman of Rangers FC; Bar. Ezeaku to keep up the good work ensuring that the welfare of every player is guaranteed. Ezeudo Aguata assured them of his partnership, saying he is committed to sports development which Rangers FC is a focal point.

Highlight of the event was the installation of Chief Sir J.J Ezeokafor as the Patron of Rangers FC as they decorated him with the Rangers FC (Home and Away) jessy, muffler and logo.

It was indeed a moment of robust exchange of football experiences both from Ezeudo Aguata and the Rangers Team.

We Have Garnered Presence Within And Outside Aguata, Says Ezeohamadike; Convener Okene Igbo Political Forum (OIPF).

The Okene Igbo Political Forum, being led by the Chairman; Nze Chinedu Okoye yesterday held their monthly meeting at Igboukwu.

The socio-political group Okene Igbo Political Forum which has gained presence across Aguata and its environs is known for its ideology in championing true democracy.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Okene Igbo Political Forum; Nze Chinedu Okoye welcomed everybody, making it clear that the forum is non-partisan as it is an umbrella for all Political players in Aguata. He equally stated that Okene Igbo political Forum has been in existence wayback as of 2012 and over those years, have garnered presence within and outside Aguata Locality.

The Convener of Okene Igbo Political Forum, Chief G.C Hon GC Umeanuka (Ezeohamadike), was impressed with the progress of the Forum since its revitalization, commended the leadership of the Forum.

There were other useful deliberations being touched and ironed our for the progress of the forum.
