Important: Study Permit Financial Requirement Update

On December 7, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) shared some important updates affecting international students. These changes impact study permit applications and GIC requirements.

Here's the new update:

Starting from January 1 2024, the Minimum Financial Requirement for Canadian study permit applications will increase.

Next year, students must show access to C$20,635 (up from C$10,000), plus the cost of their travel and first-year tuition fees. This amount more accurately reflects the current cost of living in Canada.

This change also applies to Student Direct Stream (SDS) study permits, which show proof of financial support with a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC). The minimum GIC amount will increase to C$20,635 from C$10,000 in January.

If your students wish to apply without needing to meet this new financial requirement, you must submit their application before January 1.

Study in Netherland for FREE. Apply for Holland Scholarship Programme

Holland Scholarship Programme offers international students the opportunity to study for free in Netherland. It offers PARTIAL & FULL scholarship for Bachelor and Masters degree and is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture & Science and Participating universities.

The scholarship amount ranges from €5000 to €15,000 depending on the university (students can receive multiple awards) and in some cases Upto €29,000 covering full tuition and monthly stipends!

To apply, you will to apply with participating universities usually for September intake. The application process is simple and differs between schools but generally you will be required to;
1. Provide a letter of motivation for the Holland Scholarship
2. Demonstrate your academic achievement in your application
3. Provide up-to-date CV
4. If the scholarship you applied is only for partial, demonstrate you can cover the remaining amount
5. Apply before deadline

The deadline for application is either February 1st for first round or May 1st for second round. Not all the universities or courses are available for second round.

It is important that you have never before enrolled at an educational institution in the Netherland
