The Goal is Clear and the Vision is Sharp. Ibeju-Lekki is a local government area in the Epe Division of Lagos State, Nigeria. The administrative centre was formally at Akodo and was later moved to Igando Oloja due to the creation of Lekki Council Development Area. The name of the Local government was derived from two autonomous communities, Ibeju and Lekki. The people of the area are mainly Yorub

a speaking natives, there are many other people from different parts of the country and around the world residing, working and investing in the local government. The area also attracts massive amount of tourism as it is endowed with beautiful lagoon and gorgeous ocean fronts. The development in the area is rapid and ongoing, some would even refer to the area as the New Lagos. in fact the commercial Hub of Lagos state is shifting towards the area with many investment been done to develop industries and infrastructures. IBEJU LEKKI Local Government is one of the four created in Lagos State by Gen Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in 1990, out of the old Epe Local Government, with headquarters at Akodo. However in October 2003, the then Executive Governor of Lagos State, H. E Bola Ahmed Tinubu, carved LEKKI LCDA out of IBEJU LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The name, Lekki is derived from the names of two autonomous communities, namely Ibeju-Agbe and Lekki. The local government is bounded by Eti-Osa East LCDA on the west, Epe on the East and the Atlantic Ocean on the North. Ibeju- Lekki is about 75km long and 20 km at its widest point and is spread over 646km2 or a quarter of the total land mass of Lagos state. Some of the major town in Ibeju-Lekki includes Ibeju-Agbe, Magbon-Alade, Iberikodo, Igando-Oloja, Aiyeteju, Awoyaya, Bogoje, Akodo, Elerangbe, Eleko, Elemoro, Idi-Orogbo, Lakowe, Orimedu, Abijo, Mopo-Ijebu Eputu and Badore. Located along the coastal plain of Nigeria, Ibeju-Lekki has many creeks and Lagoons and its mainly populated by Ijebu speaking people of the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria.

ADEKEMI AND ISAIAH JEWEL SCHOOL PAID A WORK VISIT TO IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

Adekemi and Isaiah Precious Jewel School, widely refered to as (A and I jewel School) paid a working Visit to ibeju-Lekki Local Government.

The visitation which comprises of both the primary School Pupils and the secondary students of the private school availed both students the opportunity to be at the Council Secretariat to learn how the Third tier of the Government was structure and its functions as a Government closest to communities and the people at the grass root level.

Speaking at the event the Executive Chairman of ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa took time to intimate the students about the three Arms of the Government, namely, Executives, Legislative and Judiciary and their respective functions and roles as various arms of the Government.

He Proceeded by intimating them with the Numbers of Constituted Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Operation.

Speaking Further, the Mayor, inform the visiting students about the Five Division which makes up Lagos State, mostly refered to as "Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island and Mainland, Epe with acronym called IBILE.


The Supervisor For Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan aka (OTS) while addressing the students reiterated, what the helmsman said, he further intimate the students about the functionality of the various arms of Government and roles of the Government to the people.

Lastly, the Proprietor of the School Mr. Isaiah Ige organised the students to file out, as they proceed to inspects the various departments and units of the organisation and their respective roles within the system.

As part of measures embarked on to enhance Efficiency and promote Accountability and Transparency as a Government at the 3 Day Retreat Training organized by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa for the Executive Members and Management Team of the Paramount Local Government.

The Pragmatic and Relentless Mayor while making his presentation at second day of event, emphasized on the adoption of the "Blue Ocean Strategy" concept aimed at Strengthening the boundaries of departmental and unit system in order to enhance efficiency and actualize the desired and collective goal of the organisation.

The Mode operandi, method of operation will improve Efficiency in all Services of the departments and units respectively.

He noted that the Blue Ocean Strategy will merge all departments together to actualize visible results.

Speaking further, he stressed that the Innovation Team will come up with Approval Timeline in which internal Memo should be treated, to avoid unnecessary delay and avert lateness in the discharged of official duties which requires urgency and timeliness.
Lastly, he implored all participants to adopt the ERRC Frame Work, which Acronyms means, E-Eliminate, R-Rate, Reduce, C-Create, and apply it to all departmental and units official activities

He submitted that the Blue Ocean Strategy will Merge all departments and Units together to actualize visible and desired results.

At the end of the 3 Day Retreat Training Programme, participants were awarded " Certificate of Participation" each.

A hand full of Seasoned Speakers and professional at various field of study were engaged to impact practical and applicable knowledge on all participants

Mr. Emmanuel Aderemi Olajide, Session 6, Speaks on Managing Budgets and Financial Planning.
(Techniques For Effective Financial Management in Local Governments.

Mr. Arasomwan Owen, Session 7, Speaks on Using Technology to improve Efficiency in Local Governments.
( Tools and Systems to Streamline Local Government Operations.

Towards the end of the programme, three counterpart of the helmsman checked in on him at the Training ground to express their acknowledgement of the good works the Mayor is doing in building human capital, by building Efficiency ,Competent and capacity via the Training, noting that formidable work force is a guaranty for productivity at work.

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa organised a three Day Retreat Training tagged, "Enhancing Efficiency And Accountability in Local Government Administration, for Executive Members and Management Team of the prestigious Organisation.

Addressing Participants at the event, the Mayor implored all to discharge their respective official duties with high sense of commitment and responsibility and to embrace new perspectives, innovations and ideas with great sense of focus and determination to achieve the organisation"s purpose and enhance productivity.

Speaking further, he enjoined participants to learn and unlearn old methods of operating and embrace new ways and views of discharging official duties respectively, especially at this era of Local Government Autonomy, noting that, it will no longer be business as usual, going forward.

*IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT OPENS 2025 BID DOCUMENTS.*

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has officially commenced its 2025 projects with the opening of bid documents.

The Chairman of the Tender Board, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, declared the bid document open for bidding, marking the beginning of the yearly programme. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees and emphasized the importance of transparency in the bidding process.

The Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Abiodun Otinwa, delivered the welcome speech, welcoming dignitaries to the first bid opening ceremony of the year and he assured free and fair bids.

Furthermore, the Bidding Companies are, Bisi Victory Divine Enterprises Ltd, Masterpattern Nig. Ltd and *Abemstdreis Global Enterprises* that submitted bids for the project. These bids will undergo further processing by the Council Procurement Unit.

Finally, this development is in line with the Government's efforts to promote transparency and competitiveness in public procurement.

OLOWA SIGNS YEAR 2025 APPROPRIATION BILL.

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon.( Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa signed into Law the year 2025 Budget, tagged "Budget of Growth and Innovation", today Thursday, 9th January, 2025.

The Budget size of "Thirteen Billion, Three Hundred And Six Million", ( #13,306,000,000,:00,) Naira Only was signed into Law by the Mayor at the Council Secretariat, Igando Oloja.

Speaking at his office, the helmsman expressed profound appreciation to the Legislative Arm of the Council under the Leadership of Hon. Olayinka Mojeed Oluwafemi and other legislative members for the unflinching Supports in according the timely approval of the bill for immediate ex*****on.

He acknowledged the timely approval of the appropriation bill by the Legislative Chamber, noting that, its the reason for the immediate signing for immediate and appropriate action accordingly.

Yesterday Sunday 5th January, 2025; the Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa honored an invitation by the Ibeju High School Alumni Association to attend its annual Get-together at the Ibeju High School in Ibeju-Agbe town.

He commend all members of the Ibeju High School Alumni which from record, comprise of old students from the 1982 set to date for their focus and resilience.
He also acknowledge their efforts in ensuring that, memories of their alma mata remains evergreen.

The Council Mayor finally assure them of his administration's continued support. This year, Ibeju High School will top his priority in developments for secondary schools in the local government.

It is my pleasure to genuinely extend a warm welcome to you all as we commence the second term of the 2024/2025 academic session.

As we commence this new term. I deem it fit to express my heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, including the teachers, parents and guardians for your unwavering dedication, unrelenting passion, and steadfast commitment in ensuring the provision of quality education to our children.

HON. OLOWA BAGS AWARD OF BEST IN ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVE

As commendations keep flowing in for the dynamic and hardworking Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.

Eko Destination Limited on Monday 30th December, 2024 bestowed an award of "The Best in Environmental Initiative" to the Council Boss led by the Project Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon and Dr. Abiodun Lasisi.

The Eko Destination team hailed Hon. Olowa for his high drive in ensuring a cleaner and sane Council Area. Hon. Nunayon also maintained that the Garbage Collection Tricycle nicknamed Keke Jaja has indeed being "wonders on wheels" as waste collection in Lagos is taken to another level.

While encouraging Hon. Olowa to maintain the drive on a high pedestal, Hon. Samson used the moment to call on other stakeholders to come up with ideas that will market Lagos to the world as a destination for tourism.

In his response, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa appreciated the team for the award as he assured that he will not relent in his drive to do more for Ibeju-Lekki Local Government as the reward for hard-work is more hard-work.

Eko Destination Limited is an organization aimed at promoting the values and culture of Lagos while projecting it globally.

Boxing Day is a day characterized with giving of gifts and extending love to others, just as the Almighty God gave Jesus Christ to mankind as recorded in the Holy Book.

In line with aforementioned the Executive Chairman of ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon.(Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has decide to make Boxing day a memorable one for residents and members of Ward C2 as he gave Free Food Packs to all at the designated venue at Iberekodo Primary School.

The Council Mayor popularly described as Mr. Talk and Do has fulfilled the promise made via the Ounje Ibeju-Lekki Free Food initiative for the Seven Wards across ibeju-Lekki Local Government Communities with the Ward C2 been the last recipient of this laudable initiative, initiated by the helmsman of the organisation to coshion down the high cost of food items in the market , especially at this yuletide season.
