The Al-Faqir Well in Madinah, which is also known as the Salman Al-Farsi Well, has reopened to visitors following development work.

Dating back over 14 centuries, it stands as a historic landmark with links to Prophet Muhammad’s times, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Located in the Alya area of Madinah, the well is surrounded by orchards and it used pulleys for water extraction in the past.

Masjid al-Ghamama is located about 300m south-west of Masjid-e-Nabwi. It is built on the site where the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the Eid salah during the last years of his life.

This masjid is also known as Masjid Eid. According to some reports the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the Eid salah here during the last four years of his life.
This is also the location where the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Salatul Istisqa (a special salah for invocation of rain). The word Ghamama means clouds which suddenly appeared and brought rain after the Prophet (ﷺ) had performed the prayer.

According to some reports, this was also the spot (or close to this area) where the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the Janaza (funeral) prayer of Najashi, the Emperor of Aksum in Abbyssinia (Ethiopia). Najashi, although being a Christian, had welcomed the groups of Muslims who had migrated to his country in order to escape the persecution of the Quraysh and later on accepted Islam. When however he passed away, there was nobody to lead the funeral prayers and so the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed his Janazah salah, the only time ever he did so in the absence of the actual body.

There are no five times salah performed in Masjid al-Ghamama due to its close proximity to Masjid-e-Nabwi.

The first time it was built by the Angels. The second time it was built by Adam

The fourth by Ibrahim.
The fifth by the tribe of Amâlika
The sixth by Jurhumî tribe.
The seventh by the Qusai,
The leader of the Meccans,
The eighth by the tribe of Quraish,
The ninth by Abdullah b. Zubair who lived in the first generation named as (tâbiûn), after the death of the Prophet (pbuh). It was rebuilt the tenth time by Hajjâj the tyrant and the eleventh time by the Uthman Sultan.

Tawaf Al-Wada‘ [Farewell Tawaf]

If the pilgrim intends to travel back home, he goes to The House and makes the Tawaf Al-Wada’, i.e. the Farewell Tawaf, as described earlier. However, there is no Ramal [Jogging] and Idtibaa [exposing the right shoulder while covering the left one] in Tawaf Al-Wada’.
This Tawaf is obligatory. However, menstruating women are exempted from it; they need not wait for their me**es to be over. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet [s.a.w.s] said:
“No one should depart until his last engagement is with The House.” [Muslim]
The pilgrim may carry along with him some quantity of Zamzam water, as a blessed souvenir.

When the pilgrim is done with the Tawaf, he may go to Al- Multazam, attach himself to it, where possible and supplicate as he pleases.
Once the pilgrim is done with the Tawaf, he walks out of The House, as usual, making the Du’a of going out of a mosque.

It is not permissible for the pilgrim for any reason other than travel arrangements to remain in Makkah once he is done with Tawaf Al-Wada’. If the pilgrim should otherwise stay back in Makkah, he should repeat it so that his last engagement is with The House.
There are no special supplications received from the Prophet [s.a.w.s] for this occasion.
