🌟 Important Update: Changes in Canadian Immigration Policy for International Students 🌟

Attention all international students considering studying in Canada! 🇨🇦 Here are the latest updates you need to know about recent changes in Canadian immigration policy:

1. Intake Cap: Canada will limit new international student permits to approximately 360,000 for 2024, a decrease of 35% from last year.

2. Provincial/Territorial Caps: Each province and territory will have a specific limit on the number of international student permits they can issue.

3. Exclusions from the Cap: Master's, doctoral, elementary, and secondary education students are exempt from the intake cap.

4. Study Permit Renewals: Current international students with valid study permits won't be affected by the new intake cap.

5. Allocation Process: Provinces and territories will distribute permits among designated learning institutions.

6. Attestation Letter Requirement: As of January 22, 2024, every study permit application must include a supporting letter from the province or territory.

7. Post-Graduation Work Permit Changes: Graduates of certain program types won't be eligible for work permits. However, master's degree graduates can soon apply for a 3-year work permit.

8. Spouse Work Permit Eligibility: Spouses of international students in master's and doctoral programs can get open work permits.

9. Long-term Reassessment: The government will review international student permit levels at the end of 2025 for future adjustments.

Back in 2011, as my kids geared up for their final exams in grade 12, I dove headfirst into the wild world of choosing where they'd continue their education. 🤔 After some serious contemplation, I set my sights on a foreign education and narrowed it down to three countries.
