It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of a legend and Laughlin Pioneer, Donald J. Laughlin, on 10/22/2023. He was 92 years young. Don touched many lives in our local community as well as nationwide, and we understand how difficult this news will be for many. Especially our Riverside Resort family. Don Laughlin was truly an amazing man to work with and learn from.

Matt and the Laughlin family have asked for some time to grieve and an official statement including memorial service will be made. Thank you in advance for all your sympathy and prayers.

Rest in Peace, Don. Your family loves you.

Full of Beans: How to Tell if You're a Coffee Snob
Coffee has been enjoyed across the world for centuries. But you may have noticed that some people have taken their love for the drink to new levels in recent years.

We probably all know someone who has become obsessed with coffee. You could call them coffee snobs!

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a snob is a person "who has extremely high standards and isn't satisfied with the things that ordinary people like."

Calling someone a snob isn't usually very polite. It's basically telling them that you think they believe they're better than those around them.

And you might be a coffee snob without even knowing it!

A website called Coffee Affection has made a list of five things that make a coffee snob. See if you agree!

The first is owning a cupping spoon. If you don't know what that is then you probably aren't a coffee snob! Cupping means coffee tasting, and these small, round spoons are used to taste the drink.

The second sign of a coffee snob is that you've spent more than $20 on less than half a kilogram of coffee. Coffee snobs like to spend money on their obsession!

And do you grind your coffee by hand even when you're at work? That's another sign, says Sean Brennan from Coffee Affection.

He adds that coffee snobs might also have a "favorite water recipe." That's right — some people who love coffee take a long time getting their water to just the right pH.

And finally, any coffee snob will have a barista who knows their coffee order the moment they walk into the shop, according to Brennan.

This could also just mean you've got a great barista!

Ghost Walk starts at 7pm
Tour A- A one hour haunting tour, full of ghost stories and spooky theater fun for the whole family! A walking tour around 1 mile, starting at 519 Beale Street. The tour goes one block down Beale Street, one block up Fifth Street, two blocks down Oak Street, one block down 3rd Street, back onto Beale Street for one block, then half block up Oak Street to our thrilling grand finale! This tour is not wheelchair, stroller, or walker accessible. 

Tour B- A one hour spooky tour full of ghost stories and haunting, friendly theater fun for the whole family! A walking tour, approximately one mile, starting at 519 Beale Street, then up to Oak Street. The tour goes down one block onto fifth street, then up to Spring street for about a block and a half. Then to tour will go down Oak Street for a block and a half to our THRILLING finale! This tour is wheelchair, stroller, and walker friendly!

Insane Asylum starts at 6pm
Prepare to be scared. Enjoy this walk-through Halloween haunt experience, but only if you dare! Haunt runs 6pm to close each evening. Live music, vendors and food trucks will be joining us in the parking lot of the event. Experience may be frightening for young children.

My automobile decided to have an alarm issue and the horn won't shut up. Drained the battery, jumped it hoping it would reset and nothing.......
