*A major step towards sustainability: Recycled chalk!* 🌍✨
Since mid-November, we’ve committed to using 100% recycled chalk in our products. This decision reflects our mission to innovate sustainably and reduce our environmental impact. Here’s how we do it:

*1. From Water to Paint*
The chalk is sourced from the process of drinking water production. Groundwater is extracted and softened, creating small chalk pellets. These are used in our bio-based products. Selecting the right regions to meet our demand and ensure the perfect whiteness is no small feat, but it’s worth the effort for this giant leap forward.

*2. Recycling Mining Residues*
We use chalk, produced through an innovative method to turn mining waste into reusable, certified material. While mining itself isn’t ideal, repurposing this byproduct into high-quality coatings is a significant sustainable win, realising a 65% lower carbon footprint on our entire chalk use.

This shift is another step in our journey to make our industry greener and leave a smaller footprint on the planet 🌿

*Hala Laminor: Romania’s Industrial Heritage in Baril Coatings*

Did you know that Hala Laminor, built in 1938 as part of the iconic "Malaxa" industrial complex, was once one of the largest industrial halls in the country? Stretching 400m x 180m with a stunning metal structure and modern architecture, it remains a testament to the vision of renowned architect Horia Creangă, grandson of celebrated writer Ion Creangă.

Fast forward to 2014: the City Hall of Sector 3 took over this historical gem 💠 By 2017, a comprehensive restoration project began, blending the hall’s original character with contemporary upgrades. The preserved metal structure now coexists with energy-efficient glazed walls and roofs, creating a space fit for the future while honoring the past.

The restoration of the structure was done by high pressure washing with Enviclean, then *16838 Unicure HSC Biobased* was used, in colour RAL 7016. A project of 30,000 liters of paint! 💪

With 1,300 parking spaces, new pathways, and a south-east esplanade, Hala Laminor has been reimagined as a space where history and innovation meet.

Transavia is one of Romania's most well-known family businesses and the local leader in the poultry industry. The company operates a vertically integrated and sustainable business model to ensure the highest standards of quality and food safety for both Romanian and global consumers.

In 2015/2016, Transavia’s new head office in Sântimbru, Romania, was built by contractor C**a, based in Sibiu. The building features a unique, egg-shaped architectural design.

The structure was coated with a two-layer system from Baril Coatings, using:
🔺 804 SteelKote EP Universal
🔺 813 SteelKote PU Finish 90 UV+

This paint system continues to provide excellent corrosion protection, proving its durability and standing the test of time with flying colours.
