Pay a visit to one of the most beautiful and historical parts of the country. The city is not only popular for it cheese market there is more. Fr example you can take canal boat tour and visit places like De Waag ( Weighing House). The beautiful wooden house dating back to 1557. Also you shouldn't miss the historical sights, like the national Biermuseum (De Boom), the different Windmills spread around the city and many more. The city centre of Alkmaar is also great for shopping, there's a large variety of shops for everyone. There are many cosy and good restaurants to be found, we can give you good suggestions.
