Chris Travel Blog by Chris W. – Business & Leisure travel combined – The efficient way! My current job demands me to travel the world for business. Luckily I can add some leisure to it to see the world. Now, almost in my mid 30’s, I have seen over fifty countries and each year I plan to explore at least five new ones amongst others I was before. I cannot sit full days for a week on the beach doing

nothing when I travel. Exploring is what I like. During the business trips the leisure is normally only a few days. In these cases I opt to see a small area in-depth or a more remote interesting place where there is only little to explore. If the travel is with the family we normally opt for longer trips and go from place to place to see many different things. A day at the beach or swimming pool is also not bad and certainly with the children that’s a must to plan in. The planning is done all by myself before hand. I do not like to just go and see what happens. For some area’s we might hire a local guide or driver to more efficiently explore the area but normally we prefer to make all drives by ourselves. The planning beforehand is as much fun as doing the trip and after when all worked out like planned this gives great satisfaction. I participate in various loyalty programs of airlines and hotels for the business travel to make sure that for the leisure travels the costs are close to zero. Flights and hotels should be without costs. We always choose for luxury travel on a budget which is working fine if you know how the system works. I do also travel on invitation of tourism boards, hotels and other commercial trips for review or paid stories. This also brings sometimes variety to places I might not choose direct myself but are also lifetime experiences. My ultimate goal is to see every country and it’s capital. All UNESCO world heritage sites. Do all kinds of various activities along the way and last but not least go to space one day. Hope you enjoy reading this blog and if you have questions or suggestions please contact me! Safe Travels ! Chris

Mongolia is one of those countries that has been on my bucket list for a long, very long time—probably since childhood. I made the below Mongolia itinerary a couple of years ago. Recently, I finally had the opportunity to visit. Originally I planned for early October, when the weather would (still) be great, but due to a delayed business trip, it was rescheduled to late November. This meant winter time, with cold temperatures and the risk of a lot of snow, which would render visiting the Deer Stones at the Khoid Tamir valley impossible. The other site, Karakorum, is always accessible unless there is a lot of fresh snowfall. Would I recommend going in winter? Continue reading on my site to find out why you should and how to arrange it safely.
