With Amsterdam Odyssey we guide people through Amsterdam in a non-touristic way. We don’t show our participants the Dam, canal ring or Museumplein. Instead, we take you on a journey into the areas where daily life happens. Discovering Amsterdam with us means discovering the city the way you wish to get to know her. We offer customised tours into the heart and soul of the city, focussing on the asp

ects that make Amsterdam feel like home for its inhabitants and like a source of inspiration for its visitors.

It's already so rewarding to meet and guide people, sharing stories both ways. And then it's extra rewarding to hear how much they appreciated our time together..!

Winter in Amsterdam: still nice to visit but less nice to spend 3 or more hours outdoors on a walking tour. We're happy to share this perfect combination tour with you. First we spend about 2 hours out on the streets where the Dutch East India Company was founded, capitalism was invented, and Rembrandt walked around and captured all these Golden Age developments on canvas.

Then we enter the Rijksmuseum for another 2 hours and connect the stories from the streets to some of the most impressive art works of those times.

You can contact us at [email protected] to plan this (or another) tour!

Autumn and winter: not the best time of the year to spend 3 hours or so outside on a walking tour. We have some great alternatives, combining walking out on the streets with visiting a building which is related to the stories of the street plus comfortably warm :)

Like the Royal Palace, once built as the city hall of 17th century flourishing Amsterdam. The huge map on the marble central floor dates from those days, depicting the world as it was known by then.

November has almost come to an end and low season in tours has arrived. Making up the balance, we are looking back to such an amazing year!! Many special meetings and connections, a great variety of tours and topics and so many in depth talks which we value so much.
If you have ever gone on a tour with us: it's never too late for a ***** review 😉 on tripadvisor or (and) google 🤩

We are looking forward to seeing and guiding you (again) in Amsterdam!

An often returning topic during our walking tours, is water management. Here's a nice example: a house boat had to be removed for shore line renovations and didn't fit underneath a bridge. So the water level was lowered by 7 cm, house boat moved, and water level restored.

It seems like it's compliments day! In the inbox today:
"I do want you to show us around. My friend Victoria said you were the best part of her Amsterdam trip."
and
"This is the first time I go to museums and actually enjoy it! Usually I suffer."

Our website has been updated - and finally we can officially announce our Countryside and flowers tour!
During the two years of lockdowns, Eva has spent most of her time in the middle of the Bulb and flower region. Though of course still and above all a true Amsterdammer, the fields around the Keukenhof flower garden have become her second home. So now we feel like we can offer you a tour through the region with a guide who knows what she's talking about ;)

Have a look on the tour page on our website and we're happy to take you along in spring!!
