Yesterday we talked about the emergency response of MH17 at Brussels Airport. The event organized by emirates was attended by AOC members and authorities. It is never easy to tell my story but when the message is well received , it is worth all the struggles .

We have a remarkable lineup of presenters on Day 2 of our Resilience Leaders’ Week! Join Professor Huseyin Dogan, Paddy Vance, along with Ian Birdsey, Colin Sheppard, and our CEO, Elmarie Marais, to discuss topics pertaining to Technology.

A special presentation by wilfred kreuger, former Station Manager for Malaysia Airlines, will provide insight into his experiences in responding to the MH17 tragedy, followed by a visit to the British Airways Crisis Management Centre in the afternoon.

Special thanks to Bournemouth University, MedAire, MIN3, and ahs airline handling supervision for making this week possible, and deepest appreciation to the Resilience Team at British Airways for hosting our visit to their offices.

Last week we were invited by the Saudia Arabian Embassy to celebrate the 93rd independence day of the KSA.it was a great honor to meet the Ambassador Mr Ziyad Al Attiyah and to see all the great future plans of the KSA. We enjoyed delicious Saudi food and made some great new friends!

In airport operations it is important to be flexibile and to deal with last minute changes. With our mobile offices we not only save time for ourselves, we win time for our customers and often prevent from delays.

Last year we started a project with Saudia to become one of their best stations in their network. A huge challenge, as we had to start at the bottom of the list. We have made changes in the ground handling over the past months and optimized the processes. The month of April was the best month since we started last year, and brought us closer to the top of the list. We are very thankful for all the great work of our gha over the past months having a top score in op time performance and no accountable delays and therefore suprised them with cakes.

We still have a long way to go and a long, hot and challenging summer ahead of us, but with our teams working so good together, I am convinced we will achieve our goals!
