I think one of my favourite aspects about wildlife photography is the patience that it requires.

Patience is understanding that when you find a pride of lions fast asleep in the shade of a Marula tree at midday, you’ve got a good 5 hours before you’ll see any action. So you park off to the side and wait… you wait because you know that eventually your patience will pay off and you will be in the perfect spot to get the shot.

However, whilst on assignment for with - we luckily didn’t have to wait that long for the Giraffe pride to wake from their slumber on a lazy Sunday afternoon. As this formidable prepared themselves for a night on the prowl, the mischievous sub-adults fed their curiosity and crept closer and closer to the landy before going prone - waiting for us to make the next move… and so naturally my next move was to grab the camera and snap away :)

Designed to run at super speeds in Africas savanah!

The majestic CHEETAH. Build for speed, with its long, slender body, it is the fastest land animal in the world. Reaching speeds in excess of 100km/h when sprinting after prey, with some claims of up to 120km/h. While other big cats like lions and leopard can retract their claws, the cheetah's claws are non-retractable and they can "purrrrr" like your normal cat at home. Females live a solitary life, unless she has her cubs with her, while the males form coalitions of two or more. On this particular occasion we saw a coalition of three males walking in the road towards close to Lower Sabie.
