Merry Christmas everyone! For this year's pre-xmas party, I spent the weekend at Pola's in her hot tub, which was quite an adventure. It was only when I got back home and looked at my photos that I noticed Max had been with us in the tub as well!! How awkward, but so typical Max! Anyway, I hope we can all meet in Pola's hot tub next year, to celebrate AVTAK40. Until then, have a wonderful holiday season! x

GOLDFINGER at 60: In March 2023, we got the chance to visit Fort Knox Army Base in Kentucky USA, a filming location for the 1964 James Bond film GOLDFINGER. Armed with our screenshots we accepted the invitation and had a great time finding all the exact spots and camera angles. During our visit to the filming location at the Ancient City, we not only met local Muay Thai legend Master Toddy, but we also brought the wonderful Joie Vejjajiva back to the place where - as a 16-year old - she played one of the karate girls, 'Cha', who saved 007's life by taking on a school of karate students. Update from Thailand: Here's to let you know that the community of Bond fans have collectively raised 20,000 baht and handed this over to Sayun Chantanarat, the Thai boy who helped 007 escape his pursuers and never got paid for fixing 007's boat. We settled this, 50 years later, making him a very happy man 😃

Brochures ✔️, group flight tickets ✔️, itinerary ✔️: On my way to celebrate 50 years of THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, in Bangkok & Phuket. Together with 42 Bond fans, this promises to be a fun TOUR OF THAILAND, that will see the return of Maud Adams to James Bond Island! So many fun excursions, location visits, fancy dinners and cute surprise appearances to look forward to!

Akime, Japan - HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE A LOCATION >>

The tiny fishing town of Akime is one of the most remote Bond locations in Japan. It was the volcanic 'island' where Kissy brought 007 (disguised as a Japanese fisherman) to, in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. It's also where Little Nellie can be seen flying over a few times. It's a lovely little place, with only 50 inhabitants and they welcome Bond fans and tourists alike, with open arms.

Kissy's house still exists today and I have been fortunate enough to visit it a couple of times, most notably during my 'YOLT50 Tour of Japan' in 2017 and recently with new group in 2023.

The house is in a really bad state, and people from the Japanese Bond community along with locals have decided time has come to join forces and to try to save this unique Bond location, before it falls apart and will be gone forever.

Together with the local community and experts they have made a plan to restore the house and even to establish a small Bond exhibition. And to pay for all this, they have set up a campaign at a Japanese style GoFundMe, called Camp-fire:

Feel free to help save this house by making a small donation. It's a bit challenging , as the site is completely in Japanese. But on a desktop, with the help of Google Translate, I managed to support them, so it CAN be done :-)
