At THE NEXT STEP you will experience a no rules all style dance competition that occurs several times per year in different locations across the Netherlands. Our competition has been created for ALL dancers whether connected to a dance school or a true street dancer. Our dancers come from different styles, skill levels and ages who all come together to stand for one day "united".

Stark Ravin’ Mad 2024

De Ravin’s komen eraan op 5 en 6 oktober 2024! Negen unieke danstalenten werken de komende maanden in een persoonlijke ontdekkingsreis toe naar de indrukwekkende (en gratis) show Stark Ravin’ Mad. Tweemaal voeren ze hun authentieke solo’s van hoog niveau op in onze Theaterzaal.

Over het project
Het project Stark Ravin’ Mad leert jong talent om vanuit zichzelf en op eigen kracht een volwaardige solovoorstelling te ontwikkelen. Het verhaal, de choreografie, de aankleding, de muziek, het licht en geluid: over alles moet worden nagedacht. Een uniek project waarbij vooraf niet bekend is wat het eindresultaat zal zijn.

Afgelopen juni vond de kick-off plaats van het jaarlijkse ‘Urban Dance Theater’ spektakel. Voor de 4e editie van dit unieke talentontwikkeling traject hebben we negen talentvolle dansers samengebracht. Meer info via de social mediakanalen van SRM.

SPECTACULAR DANCE BATTLES DURING URBAN MATTERZ!

This year we are also bringing 🔥 to our beautiful cultural temple!

The foyer of Dj Cutnice in Helmond will be transformed into a dance battle area on the Festival-Sunday where our regular MC Terence Machete van Lange swings the scepter and the thick beats of De Cacaofabriek keeps the adrenaline levels of both the participants and the audience non-stop at the highest level. A strict but fair jury determines who can pass.... and who isn't!

The battles are FREE to attend just like the festival itself. Do you not only want to watch, but do you dare to battle with other talented dancers then check below which battles we are organizing. You don't have to miss out on our prize pool of 1500 euros.... (Participation is also free)

Like every year, we start the Festival-Sunday at 10:00h. with the spectacular BreakBattle.

23 SEPT URBANMATTERZ OLDSKOOL HIPHOP CONCERT

SUGARHILL GANG, MELLE MEL & SCORPIO!

HipHop bestaat 50 jaar en om dit te vieren, gaan we op zaterdag 23 september weer een Oldskool HipHop feestje bouwen in De Cacaofabriek.

Tijdens de 7e editie van het UrbanMatterz Oldskool HipHop Concert, gaan we voor een lekkere party-vibe met een top Line-up! De artiesten die zijn uitgenodigd, hebben stuk voor stuk HipHop-klassiekers op hun naam staan die zelfs je tante kent.

🔥 SUGARHILL GANG
De eerste crew uit de Line-up van dit jaar is de Sugarhill Gang! Hun hit Rapper’s Delight staat te boek als het eerste rapnummer dat wereldwijd doorbrak. Daar is overigens niet iedereen het mee eens. Maar wat niemand zal ontkennen is dat dit nummer elk feest in beweging krijgt. Met hun partynummer 'Apache' gaat het dak er gegarandeerd af.

🔥 MELLE MEL & SCORPIO
De SugarHill Gang wordt vergezeld door niemand minder dan Melle Mel en Scorpio. Deze heren maakten deel uit van de legendarische groep The Furious Five. Samen met Grandmaster Flash scoorden ze o.a. de wereldhit 'The Message'. Melle Mel ken je ook van de hit 'White lines' die hij samen met Grandmaster Flash maakte. Eerder was het duo al te gast bij UrbanMatterz en wisten ze een gigantische party neer te zetten.
