Due Corona measures theatres are very limited in selling tickets. The capacity of theatre seats is still the same but not all seats can be sold due the required distance precautions. Besides this potential visitors could be afraid being part of a larger group of people and that could scare them off buying tickets!

Our idea is to offer an immersive virtual front row live experience. On top of this livestream we will offer some extra VIP features like a meet & greet after the show, back stage footage and even a (paid) recording after the show . We will do some testing with in-stream functionality like adding this song to your Spotify playlist. We could even think about in-stream purchases for example merchandise, the recording or even a ticket for the next show.

So now, sold out is not a barrier anymore and people can watch the show in their own safe environment. We think DNK created a structural additional revenue stream. Not only during the Corona pandemic but VEATRE could be a structural, additional & futureproof virtual theatre experience!

New Volvo XC60 revealed in VR

This morning people from all over the world were are able to join the live reveal of the new Volvo XC60 in Virtual Reality.

In close collaboration with Mediatec & AKQA we created an immersive digital experience where you could discover the new Volvo XC60, broadcasted live in VR from the Geneva International Motor Show.

The 360º camera was placed front row so you had the best seat in the house! Besides this we've embedded traditional videos and integrated card functionality to get additional information during and after the livestream.

Finally we created 4 amazing drive along experiences at the official Volvo proofing ground in Sweden a couple of weeks ago. Volvo will keep you posted.

For the VR professionals… We’ve used the Ozo camera and the brand new Ladybug 5+ camera for the VR livestreams and we recorded the whole show in 8K! This new Ladybug 5+ camera will be launched officially in the 2nd quarter of this year.

VR-IEND, yellowBird Labs DIY VR solution for the health market was on tour during the last ICT&Health Week 2017. This week is facilitated by the Dutch Ministery of VWS. We were invited to showcase and demonstrate VR-iend on several locations in the Netherlands!

HAGA hospital invited us to demonstrate VR-iend & VR-Macy (our VR database with enriched VR content) during their innovation event.

We were part of the ICT&Health experience in Utrecht to showcase VR-iendje. This was the biggest showcase event in the Netherlands during week. The international line up of keynotes, speakers and innovations were impressive. So we are very proud we were part of this event.

VR-iendje was presented at kick off meeting of a new programm for dementia in Tilburg to see how VR could be a toolkit to help people with dementia and to increase their patient well being.

GREAT START OF 2017!

We kick started this year with some amazing new projects! Indonesia, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and of course the Netherlands … will be on our travel schedule for the upcoming 6 weeks. Sports, Automotive & Retail are going to be the main topics. And it will be a combination of VR, Mixed reality and livestreaming!

Once again a great yellowBird project! In close collaboration with WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen we created a very special VR Christmas card for hospitalised kids who have to stay in hospital during Christmas.

We will create a VR livestream to give the hospitalised kids a guided VIP tour and we created a couple of recorded VR experiences. We will broadcast this unique VR experience to 10 hospitals in the Netherlands!

This is also the official start of the partnership between WILDLANDS & yellowBird to create amazing VR content in the upcoming year!

SAMSUNG EN BRAND NEW LIVE WINNEN SPONSORRING 2016

Door middel van VR (virtual reality) liet Samsung de consument de Olympische Spelen afgelopen zomer op een vernieuwende en innovatieve manier beleven. Zowel op grote evenementen als de Olympic Experience en Delfsail, kon iedereen met een VR simulator zich Dorian van Rijsselberghe wanen.

Met de Samsung Gear VR sta jij op de plank tijdens een training van Dorian. Je ziet precies wat zich op open zee afspeelt, in 360 graden en met details als windsnelheid en –richting. De Samsung Gear VR maakt het Olympische gevoel voor iedereen bereikbaar.

yellowBird was verantwoordelijk voor het produceren van de 360º experience. Dit in nauwe samenwerking met het fanastische team van Brand New Live!

Our DIY VR project "VR-iendje" was on tour last week! We were invited by T-Mobile during the Singularity University NL event. And we got invited by the Provence of Brabant to demonstrate VR-iendje during their "Liever Thuis" Cure Fair!

Borgert Klok almost missed his daughters wedding. Due to a terrible accident and the huge risk of infection he was not allowed to leave the Burncenter in Groningen. But ... with our brandnew VR-iendje "do it yourself VR solution" he was able to attend the wedding Live in Virtual reality ...

HIJ DREIGDE DE BRUILOFT VAN ZIJN DOCHTER TE MISSEN MAAR DANKZIJ VR-IENDJE WAS HIJ VIRTUEEL TOCH AANWEZIG.

Het Groninger Martini Ziekenhuis overwoog nog om hem met een ambulance naar Bedum te brengen waar zijn dochter trouwde. Maar het bleek te riskant, hij was te kwetsbaar. Meneer Klok ligt in het ziekenhuis nadat hij ernstige brandwonden opliep bij een bedrijfsongeval.

Het bijzondere moment heeft hij woensdag toch niet hoeven missen. Dankzij VR-iendje van maakte hij de bruiloft van zijn dochter mee door een Virtual Reality-bril.

Hij droeg de bril in zijn ziekenhuisbed. In Bedum stond op de lege stoel naast zijn vrouw een camera, ter grootte van een frisdrankblikje. Klok kon 360º graden in het rond kijken, meeluisteren en iedereen op de bruiloft kon hem ook horen. Keek hij opzij, dan zag Klok zijn vrouw zitten, keek hij achterom, dan zag hij de andere gasten.

SPECIAAL MOMENT!

Klok was na een week in het Brandwondencentrum maar mag vanwege infectiegevaar toch niet zomaar weg uit het ziekenhuis. In quarantaine zegt hij vanachter glas via de intercom: „Goed dat zo’n heel team hieraan werkt, zeker ook voor de kinderen die hier zijn. Ik blijf dit promoten, wat ze hier doen. Petje af!”

Het Brandwondencentrum Groningen is even enthousiast, aldus zegsman Björn de Vries. „We gaan er graag mee door. Het biedt zo veel mogelijkheden. Nu al en bovendien gaan de ontwikkelingen zo enorm snel.”

YELLOWBIRD LANCEERT VR-IENDJE™

We hebben reeds in december 2015 de basis gelegde voor VR-iendje™. Onder de noemer Immersive Care hebben we een brandwonden patiënt een onvergetelijke kerst bezorgd. Middels een dubbele livestream hebben we een Roemeense familie virtueel herenigd.

Dit was al een groot succes. Het afgelopen jaar hebben we daarom gebruikt om samen met professionele partners te experimenteren, te itereren en in co-creatie tot een nog betere toepassing te komen.

Dit heeft geleid tot VR-iendje™ een oplossing die do it yourself VR mogelijk maakt. Innovatief aan deze oplossing is de manier waarop ouders en vrienden met een handzame gebruiksvriendelijke camera zelf virtual reality beelden kunnen vastleggen en kunnen livestreamen zonder tussenkomst van yellowBird.

Het enorme gebruiksgemak, een minimale vertraging in streams en de mogelijkheid om beelden later terug te kunnen kijken zijn het grote verschil met eerder ontwikkelde methodes.

Martini Burn Center Groningen and yellowBird started their partnership. yellowBird created therefore three 30 minute immersive VR storylines which can be used in the GearVR.

These VR stories will distract patients and burn victims during their painful treatments. We will include gaming elements and other interactive elements to make it really immersive.

This is not a one off project but a scientific research program to see what the real impact will be. A team of researchers is being set up in close collaboration with the University of Groningen.

PEP GUARDIOLA UNVEILED AS MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER IN VR!

You had a front row seat during the presentation of the new Manchester City badge and the unveiling of the new Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola.

The 360º livestream was viewed almost 8.000 and the average viewing time was 5 min. The highlight clip of this event was viewed over 100.000 times in just 10 hours! Up to now the highlight clip is viewed 200.000 ...

REGGAE SUMFEST 2016 WILL FEATURE A GROUND BREAKING INNOVATIVE 360° VR LIVE STREAM.

Reggae Sumfest is the largest concert festival in Jamaica, taking place each year in mid-July in Montego Bay! Sumfest 2016 will feature a groundbreaking innovative 360º interactive Surround Video. livestream.

Watch both nights Friday and Saturday July 22 & 23 from start to finish in VR! The stream will give you 4 cameras to choose at will for the action and location the viewer wants and you will be able to scroll and swipe or just move the angle of your phone to change the view.

It will be like being at the festival and having access on the stage, in the VIP area, cruising the festival grounds, and hanging backstage with the stars…nothing like this has ever been done at the Festival. Pre-recorded highlights from the Beach Party, Hip Strip, Blitz All White Edition, Sound System Explosion, and special sponsor 360° coverage will also be inserted into the live stream at select intervals.

EMPTY CLASSROOM DAY - EXPANDING HORIZONS IN VR -

We took the Pupils at Moulsecoomb Primary School on a country-hopping tour from Brighton to Brazil this summer in what was be Great Britain’s/Sussex’s first ever virtual reality lesson outside of the classroom.

In a bid to expose pupils to places they wouldn’t be able to see in a typical school day, digital agency Propellernet and virtual reality experts yellowBird have partnered to create a geography lesson like no other for the 25 Year One students, aged between 5 and 6 years old.

As well as seeing Brighton’s own horizon from the beach near the Brighton Pier, the schoolchildren were transported on an interactive, virtual reality journey across five countries using headsets installed with video footage that spans 360 degrees.

The initiative combines cutting edge technology with nature to bring the curriculum to life in an interactive way and inspire the schoolchildren to expand their own horizons, begun with a trip to the beach on 17th June 2016. The date also marks Empty Classroom Day which joins schools from across the world to celebrate and inspire learning and play outside of the classroom.

VR LIVESTREAM "OUR FUTURE OF HEALTH" CONFERENCE!

On May 26. Nijmegen was the stage for world’s first blended conference on the future of health. Over 30 hours over content, 20+ locations worldwide, sharing the newest technologies & innovations within healthcare and awesome startups.

yellowBird streamed live in 360º this great event. You were able to watch to keynotes from a VIP front row perspective!

The conference started in Nijmegen where over 1.200 guests were be able to listen to a variety of national & international speakers. At noon the conference splits up, while the conference continues in Nijmegen Our Future Health travelled the world over the internet. Using a live video stream of 24 hours the livestream follows daylight in 20 cities on the globe.

“Our Future Health” was part of Start Up Fest Europe.

TURKISH FOOTBALL CUP FINALS LIVE IN VR

In close collaboration with Orsatek our Turkish partner in crime, you were able to watch live the Turkish Cupfinals in VR! Orsatek used multiple yellowBird 360º cameras and streaming servers to give the Turkish football fans the best seats in the house!

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe football fans could watch the match live in 360º via the ATV A+ app (iOS & Android). Besides this they were able to use the VR cardboard mode and the option to switch from camera and to get the best immersive Football experience!

Orsatek was able to set up the infrastructure themselves. This after we trained the Orsatek team a couple of weeks ago. yellowBirds support team was remotely standby in case of emergency.

BACK TO SCHOOL VR RUNNER UP SAMSUNG VR CONTEST – BEST VR CONCEPT

Our Back to School VR project was nominated for the Best VR Concept of the Netherlands. This contest was organized by Samsung and the big final was this morning during the Startup Fest Europe in Amsterdam. Over 250 (!) companies and start ups submitted their great ideas and we made it to best final three concepts!

We are very proud of this great result and this proves we have a fantastic project/concept and really looking forward to roll this out as soon as possible.

Back to school!

We delivered a 7 year old burn victim in the Martini Burn Center a memorable morning. He was able to go back to school again! This was very special for him, as he is hospitalized for weeks and not allowed to leave his room. But this morning - because of our 2 way livestream - he was virtually back at school. And in addition to this all his classmates were virtually along his bedside inside the hospital.

Back to school VR, is the virtual reality project that we have developed in close cooperation with the Martini Burn Centre. This is one of the initiatives of the yellowBird Immersive Care program. With this VR solution we break through the child's isolation with all the positive consequences at the end.

A Virtual surf along experience with Olympic Champion Dorian van Rijsselberghe!

In close collaboration with the fantastic Brand New Live team and Samsung we created a mind blowing surf along experience to activate the Samsung sponsorship.

In just 2 weeks we created a first person perspective - full Virtual Reality experience. Starting with an awesome shoot in Rio de Janeiro, stitching and rendering over night, editing the first shots in the plane on our way back home, we delivered in time before the press release last Tuesday.

The end result is a really immersive VR race experience including CGI effects, wind direction, speed, position in the race etc.

This is the 3rd Olympic VR 360º experience we created! In 2012 we created the Olympic Polyclinic VR Tour during the London Olympics. And in 2014 we followed the US wintersports team on their road to Sotchi 2014.

Coca-Cola surprises horeca guests with smart products and VR!

In very close collaboration with activation agency Noise we have created a list of very cool 360º experiences for Coca Cola. We produced a list VR experiences and embed them into a mobile app. Inside the app people have to guess the location of the experience, whereby they can win Coca Cola gadgets, tickets etc.

The app will be refreshed with new 360º experiences and new chances to win great prizes every week. The campaign was launched May 11th.

Groenleven a hidden gem in the solar panels business, working on an amazing project! On the TT racetrack in Drenthe they’re covering 70.000m2 parking place with 21.000 solar panels; the biggest covered sunpark in the world.

Groenleven asked yellowBird to capture this unique project in a unique, immersive way. We are creating an interactive VR experience with several storylines combined and enriched with interesting insights of this fantastic project.

ANP VR livestream!

In close collaboration with HappyKamping we live streamed the yearly ANP conference.
ANP is the largest news agency in the Netherlands. With 140 reporters, correspondents, editors and photographers ANP produces over 160.000 news articles a year, accompanied by 600.000 photos.

We live streamed to the most common platform including GearVR, Cardboard and mobile devices. Besides that we created an iframe to be placed on the ANP websites.

Marketing Drenthe VR mountainbike experience!

Drenthe is the place to be for mountainbikers in the Netherlands. They have some brilliant single tracks, fantastic down hills segments in one of the most beautiful parts of the Netherlands. The issue is Marketing Drenthe would like to attract mountainbikers to come over, be inspired and to book a trip to Drenthe.

We came up with the idea to shoot a 1st person point of view mountainbike experience. With the use of a 360º helmet cam you will experience a guided mountainbike experience.
