Hey there grape pickers! While we're busy working behind the scenes to bring you a great website, we wanted to share some cool info about the grapevines in the Beaujolais wine region right now in May.

So, in early May, the grapevines in Beaujolais are in a really important stage of their growth cycle. The workers in the vineyards are putting in a ton of effort to make sure the vines are healthy and strong, which is super important because it leads to the best possible fruit come harvest season. The weather during this time can be a bit unpredictable, with some days warm and sunny and others cool and rainy. But the vines need the right balance of sunshine and water to grow and produce top-quality fruit, so the workers are keeping a close eye on the weather and taking all the necessary steps to protect the vines from any extreme conditions. 🧑🏼‍🌾

Hello grape pickers! We are very happy with all the enthusiastic applications we are getting in 🍀.

Unfortunately, there is currently a small problem with our website and the registration system is still on last year....
We are working hard on this, and hope to have this fixed by next Monday. See you then!

In the meantime, a bit of history about our favourite wine region the Beaujolais:

Beaujolais is a wine region located in the northern part of the Rhône department in France. The history of Beaujolais wine production can be traced back to the Roman era, when the area was first cultivated for vineyards.

In the Middle Ages, the wines of Beaujolais were highly prized and were even served at the coronation of French kings. However, the region's fortunes declined in the 19th century, when phylloxera and other vineyard diseases devastated the vineyards.

It wasn't until the 20th century that Beaujolais experienced a resurgence, thanks in large part to the efforts of a group of winemakers known as the "Gang of Four." These winemakers sought to return to traditional winemaking techniques, and their emphasis on quality over quantity helped to establish Beaujolais as a region capable of producing some of the world's finest wines.

Today, Beaujolais is perhaps best known for its light and fruity red wines made from the Gamay grape. These wines are often enjoyed young and slightly chilled, and are a popular choice for summertime drinking.
