Very unhappy to see so many elephants in Ayutthaya 😔 About 9 years ago we wrote about the gruesome animal abuse of people riding elephants and well post it here again. Just in case you ever feel the need to ride an elephant, please read up on how these majestic animals’ spirits and bodies are broken, just so they can amuse tourists. It’s heartbreaking!

It’s getting a bit of a tight squeeze with the three of us but we can still fit 🤣 And we’re having a blast exploring Ko Yao Noi and Ko Yao Yai!

We hopped on our motorbike again today (we still fit all 3 on one bike, but barely…) to visit Mae Sa Waterfall, about 45 minutes from where we’re staying. There’s a walking trail with steps and inclines besides the falls and you can walk all the way up to level 10. We loved it!

On our way to Mae Sa waterfall we spotted this beautiful ornate temple called Wat Pa Dara Phirom Phra Aram Luang (วัดป่าดาราภิรมย์ พระอารามหลวง) so we hopped in for a quick visit on the way back.

If you’re making a list of things to do with kids in Chiang Mai the Huay Kaew waterfall is a good one to add. It’s close to the city and easy to reach. Lots of little pools to play in and cool off. There’s also a short hike up to a view point. Take a picnic and enjoy!

Wat Pha Lat in Chiang Mai. Amazing temple complex hidden in the forest halfway up the Doi Suthep mountain. It even has a small waterfal on the grounds. After visiting the very busy Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan Chiang Mau’s old city yesterday, the serenity of Wat Pha Lat felt almost surreal.

Heaviest summer storm ever recorded in The Netherlands right now. Lots of flights cancelled, no train traffic in the northern and western part of the country, road traffic warnings and people are advised to stay inside.

Poly is volgens Weeronline de eerste zeer zware zomerstorm ooit. Op weerstation IJmuiden is tussen 8.00 en 9.00 uur windkracht 11 gemeten en dat is een record. Zulke heftige zomerstormen zijn zeldzaam.

We made it to Singapore! Only a few days left of our 8 week trip. Time to start planning the next one! But first some pics of our day today. We’ve been busy! Little India, Fort Canning, the ArtScience Museum and as cherry on the cake the Garden Phapsody at the Gardens by the Bay. Wow!
