𝟏𝟗 𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝐓𝐔̈𝐕 𝐤𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬

Binnenkort sturen we weer cilinders naar de TÜV voor een druktest. En we hebben nog ruimte voor meer.
TÜV geeft de cilinder vrij voor straattransport (ADR), wij voor de luchtwaardigheid.

Voorwaarde voor de TÜV keuring is wel dat de ‘oude’ stalen cilinders niet ouder mogen zijn dan 25 jaar. Oudere stalen flessen kunnen we uiteraard wel zelf voorzien van een druktest en vrijgeven voor de luchtwaardigheid. Duplex en aluminium cilinders kennen deze voorwaarde niet.

De cilinders dienen uiterlijk 𝟗 𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 bij ons te zijn zodat we ze kunnen voorbereiden.

Komende zaterdag organiseren we voor de Nederlandse en Belgische ballonvaarders in opleiding bij de DTO een techniekdag. We laten ze dan dieper kennis maken met de techniek achter het ballonvaren en zijn ervan overtuigd dat deze kennis bijdraagt aan het behalen van het vak Ballonvaren en Materialen.

We hebben een interessant programma samengesteld waarbij de nadruk ligt op hands-on training en iets minder op theorie alleen. Zo hebben we o.a. opengewerkt materiaal, gaan ze zelf knopen leggen, grab testen uitvoeren, een brander en cilinder van binnen bekijken en mag iedereen zijn/haar kunsten laten zien op de naaimachine.

We kijken uit naar zaterdag en zijn nu al trots de studenten deze ervaring te mogen bieden.

En eigenlijk zijn we zelfs zo enthousiast dat we iets dergelijks volgend jaar ook voor de bestaande balllonvaarders willen aanbieden. 🎈

The Vincent van Gogh balloon in its new state. We have completely replaced all blue Nomex and nylon panels from the cone by black and repaired the inner diaphragms. We still think it is one of the best balloons ever built and it deserved this kind of attention. Very proud of the result.

As Cameron’s partner for the Netherlands we were happy and proud to facilitate a factory team during their work with the new Alugas cylinders.
Dave, Steve and Paul came to The Netherlands to valve loads of new CB2990B cylinders.

Once ready and released by the Cameron team, the cylinders were sent to various dealers in Europe for further distribution.

By now many of those cylinders have found their way back to their owners and probably had their first flight already.

VINCENT VAN GOGH
We are glad to have this magnificent balloon in our fleet after acquiring it last year.

Over the winter period the lower (conical) section of the balloon has been restored by us as this was severely damaged and badly repaired in several places. All blue panels have been replaced with black, the internal diaphragms (that give the balloon its shape) have been repaired and a new scoop has been fitted. All of this brings the balloon back to a state it deserves.

Now it’s time for the good weather to arrive so that we can take it up into the sky. Time to see it soar!

If a burner appears to have less power, it may be that there is a blockage somewhere. That can be in the jets, in the couplings to the cylinder or somewhere in the block. To solve the problem, parts are replaced step-by-step and gas consumption is measured (weighed) before and after. Once the cause has been determined, it is determined whether the part must be replaced or whether (ultrasonic) cleaning is sufficient.
