The well-known Dutch villages are Marken, Volendam, Edam and a visit to the Zaanse Schans.
Marken is a small and cozy fishing village and well known for it characteristic wooden houses.
Volendam is very well-know by toursit and has little wooden houses around the fishing port.
The village Edam is of course well known for the Dutch Edam cheese what have been sent to all corners of the world A visit to the ‘Zaanse Schans”. Brings you back in the 18th and 19th century to experience how people lived and worked. There’s lots to see and wonder about, like the windmills, the making of cheese and clocks, the nicely painted wooden houses and different museums.
