It's been an expensive day again. First I needed a pneumatic tacker for the smaller woodwork. Later our router broke down into lots of tiny bits. The results, however, were better than we expected but we'll show that later when it's put together.

It's all about Rock 'n Roll ... and styling. Today we've finally finished the toughest separation wall. It's still plain wood but we were curious how it's going to look when a full-size Baba Yaga will be keeping an eye on everyone coming up. So we got to experiment a little with Photoshop.

So I found these brilliant dimmers. Looking really luxurious and they work perfectly. Well ..., almost ..., the one thing you'd like it to be in a sleeping quarter is that it's as quiet as possible. Fortunately we've fixed the problem, but it wasn't a nice surprise powering these dimmers up for the first time.

We had some more bad luck this afternoon. A rivet for mounting the separation walls turned out to be too short. Of course we didn't check it before and luckily we ran out of air for the rivetgun, otherwise we had to cut two wooden plates again. Now it was only one smaller plate. But have you seen the first bed?!?! 😃 It's not finished but, wow, it's really starting to look like something.

YESSS!!! After some "minor" difficulties, we've continued with cutting wood for the separation walls of the bed bunks. It's really great to have the tent up and having an oil heater to get it comfortably dry and warm

Because Dutch weather is (mostly) very wet we have built a tent so we're able to continue cutting wood and basically have a workshop giving us the ability to continue when we like, without being delayed by lots and lots of rain

It's starting to look like it. The small gap where the light comes through is the second escape hatch. The wood will be cut out later today. Especially so we can close the hatch because we're expecting heavy rains tonight

It all happened with a big BANG!!! The tube got clotted so I drilled the exit open, applied some pressure but only a little smidge appeared and went back inside when the pressure was released. So again ... and all of a sudden the whole pneumatic caulking gun exploded and the kit tube was rocketed through the bus. Fortunately nobody was injured but WOW, that bang was LOUD 😱😂

It's been a while since the last update due to some motivational reasons I won't bother you with. But today we've finally begun with putting the ceiling in. We had the wood ready made but it turned they were 4cm to wide to get them through the staircase to the upper floor. 💪🏻🙂

Just buy some ledstrips, stick a dimmer somewhere in between and away you go ... Or so I thought. Turnes out the dimmer switches differently than expected ... 🤔 And broad daylight or pitch black in the walkway isn't what anyone would want so onwards with the puzzle 💪🏻🙂👌🏻

This licence plate summed it up quite accurate. "Pech" is Dutch for "bad luck" and yes I got my share of it. It took some effort to get it there and that definitely wasn't the last bit of bad luck. Hopefully we can get rid of the bad luck and start with some good luck the upcoming month. This plate hung on the wall at one of the Dutch vehicle registration offices. I had to give them a visit to get the bus registered in the Netherlands.

We're not quite there yet with the roof, but the windows are almost completely darkened. You can see (or can't see) how dark it is inside when the roof hatches are closed and the light goes off. This was filmed while it was broad daylight outside.

Being able to charge your phone while you're asleep (or just laying down for a moment) is no luxury these days. Each bed will get two USB charging points. The wiring to the beds has been prepared. Once the beds are in, it's only a matter of connecting all the items 🤓

Last Thursday we had a very little part of an eclipse. Through the blinded windows in the sleeping area you could very well see it 😎
