On the 9th of March, we will be attending the 2023 edition of the Event Summit at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Event professionals from all over the Netherlands come together at this summit to discover the latest trends, opportunities, and threats in the events market.

The day will be filled with inspiring speakers, company presentations, and networking. Three of our colleagues, Maud Corstjens, Felix Kop and Silvia van der Leeuwen will be attending the summit to represent ResortNet Events. ResortNet is always looking for new opportunities, and about 2 years ago we think we found a hidden gem: the Carpathian Mountains. This awe-inspiring canvas of rugged nature, pristine countryside, and exceptional culture begs to be opened up to a wider audience.

Our new park, Green Valley Resort, will attempt to incorporate the unique surroundings without changing any of its original beauty. Situated on a hill between green thickets and rolling fields, this ambitious project will attempt to blend in with the magnificent surroundings, giving guests an authentic, untouched experience of the Transylvanian Carpathians.

We are planning on sending out an update for every significant development in the construction phase. Last week, one of these developments took place as a whole array of different homes were placed in the park. The arrival of these homes marks a turning point for Green Valley in which it transforms from a simple plot of land into a nature-rich haven of premium comfort and authentic hospitality.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither is Parc Maasresidence Thorn.

Yet, the second phase of construction is nearing completion, which is very exciting! We have added a whole new area to the park, with Premium Water, Premium Outdoor and Kids Special type villas. Straddling the coast of the Grote Hegge in the south of the park, this area is surrounded by water on three sides, offering magnificent views in all directions.

The planned opening of phase 2 is on the 17th of February. Coming weekend, there will be a pre-opening during which we get acquainted with the new homeowners and put the villas to the test for the first time.

Although we will heartily toast this huge achievement, there is not a lot of time for celebration as phase 3 is already in development. Spoiler alert, phase 3 will have an island!

In collaboration with the owner, ResortNet has developed a completely new renovation and rental plan for the La Sapinière Holiday Park. The current company has been assessed regarding turnover, references, and bookings. Based on the outcomes, a concept renovation plan has been developed, guidance has been given with the architectural renovation, and, with contemporary interior design choices, the ResortNet Management software and a new rental strategy have been implemented.

In addition, Customer Service department handles all bookings in collaboration with the reception team on site whilst all links with our partners are maintained through our IT department in Romania. This allows the owner of Holiday Park La Sapinière to simply focus pleasing its guests!

As Marketing and Communication Lead, Silvia is the central point of contact between operations, park managers, and external partners. In this position, she ensures quality and uniformity in both the outward and inward brand of ResortNet.

With a proven track record in the hospitality sector, Silvia effectively implements and evaluates marketing and communication strategies for ResortNet holiday parks. Close collaboration with the marketing team and with park owners is therefore essential in her role. Next to this, her daily mission is to improve B2B visibility towards existing and potential external partners.

She serves as an advisor and an intermediary between marketing and operations, creating an effective mix of specific, relevant, and achievable strategies together with a time-bound implementation plan.

Her innovative and confident mindset is reflected in the final products she delivers, both with regards to creativity and quality.

Unfortunately, 2023 has started off with continued economic uncertainty for many people. Although this may be the case, travel and vacation are still a priority for most. According to Booking.com, 73% of all travelers are more optimistic about traveling and 43% are even willing to spend more lavishly on their holidays. Furthermore, an increase in nostalgia and authenticity has opened up new opportunities in the holiday park market.

At our parks, we aspire to integrate ourselves into the local community. We often work together with restaurants, museums, and parks in order to provide unique and exciting excursions to our guests. We strive to offer authenticity at every turn. Want to eat escargots on holiday? We have a local snail farmer that can give you a tour! Want to try a traditional beer tasting? We personally know a brewer who has been brewing since 1766! Wish to explore the lakes? We have 4 different types of unique boats and cruises lined up!

We saw the potential in the Vallée Les Etoiles holiday park from the very start. After ResortNet’s acquisition in 2018, we completed a strategic analysis regarding operations, rental, and target group research. Based on this, we have implemented the ResortNet Management System, which has allowed us to work with the team in an open and goal-oriented (guest-oriented) manner.

One year in, the results have really started to show. Bookings have increased, along with turnover, margins, and general customer satisfaction. Due to the value added by our system in Vallée les Etoiles, it now serves as an instructional center for our ResortNet clients.

We train all the staff, from reception to catering here and produce a smooth transition into the ResortNet workflow.

The main success of Vallée Les Etoiles was the strategic positioning of the brand as its own entity. The ResortNet brand remains mostly internal, guiding and improving the outward service provided.

New Project Romania

We have started construction of a unique holiday park in Romania, culminating in approximately 300 high-quality, luxury holiday homes and hotel facilities. Both the rental and management are directed by ResortNet, one of the labels of the Bungalownet Group.

The new holiday park, with sustainable and environmentally friendly holiday homes, is built along a river in a stunning Carpathian nature reserve in southeastern Transylvania. The park is the ideal base year-round for discovering the stunning natural landscape and breathtaking sights such as the historic city of Brașov and Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle.

Near the holiday park lies a beautiful ski area with slopes that are challenging for both novice and experienced skiers and snowboarders. The capital city, Bucharest, is approximately a two-hour drive away.

The annual B2B trade show and convention feature thousands of exhibiting companies from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.
