Carplantis Holland's Premier Big Carp Fishery

- 250 carp average 35lb+ The lake record set in 2020 is 70lb+ (32kg).

Carplantis is a Big carp Fishery up in the north of the Netherlands near the city of Assen. The lake is 8 hectare (17 acres) in size, with a carp stock of approximately 250 fish averaging around 35lb. The lake is a 40 year old sandpit with depths up to 14 meters (45ft)

There are only 4 double swims, so there is a maximum of 8 anglers. Because the fishing is done in pairs (double swims only) you

can only book per 2 persons. The price is 425,- euro's (2023) per person per week. We only take week bookings, friday to friday. The lake will be run as a drive and Survive venue. Swims cannot be booked in advance. We will draw for the swims on the day of arrival, except when you book the whole lake for your group. The fishing will be continental style, the use of boats and baitboats is allowed. Carplantis is not a runs water!! But the average carp is around 18kg (40lbs) with a good head of 25kg+ (55lbs+) carp. Carplantis Rules

1. No fish are to be taken off site or even out of your swim under any circumstances, the fishing is no kill only.

2. Drug and Alcohol abuse will not be tolerated, those found intoxicated will be asked to leave.

3. We wish to record the growth of every carp so please photo both sides of every fish and record the capture on the catch report forms provided.

5. There should be no reason to cut back any vegetation, if something is in your way call us and we will cut it away for you.

6. Car Parks have been created close to each swim to hide your cars from view thus creating the most ‘natural’ landscape possible. Please keep your cars in the car parks once your gear has been dropped off at your swim.

7. Anglers must leave by 10am on Friday morning and new anglers must not arrive before 12.00 , gates will be locked. The draw will be at 13.00 after everyone has a chance to look around. The draw will be hosted by the bailiff.

8. No Tiger nuts or Peanuts allowed, other particles if prepared right are ok to use.

9. To stop disease Unhooking Matts, Landing Nets, Weight Slings, Water Buckets and Carp Care Kits are provided, do not bring your own!

10. Make sure all fins are flat against body before lifting fish and always carry fish back to the water in a weigh sling. If a fish is damaged use the carp care kits on body or mouth as shown.

11. No carp sacks are allowed on site, if you are found with one you will be asked to leave! So do not bring any. Carp Retainers are supplied. Do not retain a carp for longer then 15 minutes! So make sure you bring a camera with a good flash for night shots.

12. Micro barbed hooks only, no smaller then size 6, this is to reduce mouth damage and allows a snagged fish to escape. Barbless hooks are not allowed, they cut like a knife when playing fish.

13. No Long Curved Shank hooks, Fox series 5, Long Shank Nailer etc, they cause too much mouth damage in the wrong hands.

14. Use any lead system you like providing the fish can free itself from the lead if the line breaks.

15. Braided reel line is NOT allowed nor are shock leaders made from braided line. For mainline use Mono or Fluoro Ca**on lines mininum 0.35mm

16. Leadcore/unleaded/freefall leaders are allowed with a maximum lenght of 60cm (2ft)

17.To maintain swim boundaries a map has been created, please keep within your boundaries. Also Permanent markers are placed to show your boundaries, do not move them or you will be asked to leave.

18. Remote controlled boats are allowed until the moment they cause problems.

19. We want everyone to have a great holiday so please keep music to a very low level and be aware your voices travel in this quiet part of the countryside. Complaints will be dealt with swiftly!

20. Boats are allowed and available for rent.

Information regarding Boat use at Carplantis.
Whilst we do hire boats at the venue. You of course can bring your own boat if you wish. As long as our unhooking mats can fit inside the boat to safely transport landed fish back to the peg.
