In Gal Oya, Sri Lanka we we're shown around a veda area. The veda are the original inhabitants of Sri Lanka. The chief of the village showed his house, walked with us in the jungle and showed medicinal plants and introduced us to the shaman of the village.

We zijn in China! Om precies te zijn in het stadje Yangshuo! En waaauw wat een prachtige natuur hier. 😍

Ons eerste dagje in China en 's middags meteen een super toffe ervaring gehad (geregeld via DimSum & Meet-a-local): we hebben gegeten bij een Chinees gezin in een klein dorpje net buiten Yangshuo! 😊

Bijzonder om eens bij een gezin thuis te kijken, in hun woonkamer te zitten, mee te gluren terwijl zij hun eten buiten in een schuurtje bereiden, met het hele gezin het avondeten nuttigen om vervolgens op hun dak te genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op het Chinese karstgebergte. 😍

Als het uploaden hier mee wilt werken dan volgt er zeker nog een filmpje!

Wat is de wereld toch mooi hè?! 😍

China, Yangshuo, meet a-local! Cook and dine at family home

Peter Guan lives with his family at the countryside in Yangshuo (South - China) His mother is 64 years old and living in his house as well. Peter's wife Chu Xiu Mo works in the countryside and spends much time in their orange grove. Their son Zhi Wei Guan, 14 years, goes to school, does his homework and is always happy being with his grandmother. In the evenings he often plays basketball.

The whole family is happy to receive foreign guests in their home and have dinner together. You are welcome to take a look into the kitchen as well or even help cooking if you like. The peppers, garlic, onions and beans are freshy picked from their own garden.
A visit to Peter and his family also gives you a good insight into a Chinese household in rural areas. He speaks excellent English, so you can communicate with the family. See you there!

Visited Temma market in Osaka.
Full of fish, meat, vegetable and mountains of "Katsuo-bushi".
This is one the important ingredients for Japanese cooking made from fishmeat，and you can know the detail in Osaka kitchen. Of course tasting is included!

One of the most beautiful Himalayan valleys is Spiti, located in the Indian Himalaya, close to Ladakh, Kinnaur and Lahaul. Also here we have a nice meet-a-local program, based on the centrury old tradition of the Buchen. During this theatre play you learn about the traditions of Buddhism.

Two clients came back satisfied from a tour in Iran and they had 3 meet-a-local experiences, one in Deh Seyf (in the desert near Kerman), one in Yazd and one in Shiraz. Here are some pictures of their meetings with Iranian hosts. In Shiraz they helped preparing an Iranian dinner.

Finally Cherry blossom season is started. It's so nice and make us happy to see full of pink colored trees. So you can find a lot of Japanese enjoy eating and drinking under sakura trees. Osaka castle, River side and Utsubo park is well-known sakura place in Osaka.

Had dinner together with Aya, Sayako and Hitomi in Tokyo. Not at home but nevertheless a great evening with intriguing dishes like seaweed packed in doufu topped with fish flakes, raw sea brass, crab in miso, sweet potatoe bites and plum wine. We had fun by asking each other our secret hobbies...
