Today is the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and marks the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Auschwitz was the N**i's largest and deadliest concentration camp, where over 1.1 million people were murdered during its nearly 5 years of operation.
Today, you can visit Auschwitz, to see for your self the suffering that its inmates had to go through, simply for deviating from the N**i's ideal. We honor and remember their fight and sacrifices in the name of freedom.

With some great tours and wonderful concerts to look forward to next season, we certainly have a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving! Though we may not celebrate the holiday in Europe, we share our thanks this season - with some traditional music of course! Did you know that the hymn We Gather Together was actually written by a Dutch poet? We are happy to bring the hymn to full circle and listen to this beautiful rendition of the hymn by The HYMNS ENSEMBLE while giving thanks and wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving!

Bonjour! Last month we attended the Paris Region Workshop organized by France.fr & Visitparisregion 😄 Lots of new places to see and visit in the city of lights! From a visit to the Atelier des Lumières, exploring the Hotel de la Marine and discovering Paris on a private tour in a true French “deux chevaux”. Plenty of new ideas to enhance the next (music)tour with your group! A bientôt!🗼

Yesterday marked the 77th anniversary of the largest seaborne invasion in history, Operation Overlord, better known as D-Day.
Every year, thousands of people travel to Normandy, France to commemorate the start of Europe's Liberation from N**i Occupation and to honor those who fell with ceremonies, speeches and music.

Today, it has been 81 years since the Dunkirk Evacuation, during which the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) and other Allied Troops were evacuated to England. By June 4th, 198'000 British, and 140'000 French and Belgian troops had been saved.

In 2017, Christopher Nolan directed a movie about this event, "Dunkirk".

Today is ANZAC Day. The day on which we remember Australians and New Zealanders whose lives were lost in battle, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Originally, ANZAC Day was the day to honor the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in the Gallipolli Campaign (WWI). Lest we forget!

106 years ago exactly, WWI's second battle of Ypres started. During this battle, the German army used poison gas for the very first time, without success. This battle showed the first victories of a former colonial nation (Canada) over a European power (Germany) on European soil. Today, we are remembering the 100,000 lives that were taken in this battle, which lasted until May 15, 1915.
