We decided to open up our state-of-the-art Villa Dionysus in Balchik as a Co-living location, starting this September. We have 5 spacious private rooms and a huge shared open-plan living room/kitchen/work room, a game/work hallway on the 3rd floor and a large outside area with 10x5m heated pool, sunloungers, dining area, bbq's, etc. Seaviews, balcony access, airconditioning and fast WiFi Internet are standard.

Even the rain could not stop us: this week we completely redid the entrance and front yard of Arode Hütte Harzilein. New pavement, new borders, new plants, new lighting and a new terrace with new (self-made) furniture. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Do you love to get out of the hassle of city life and long for the peace and quiet in nature? Then we have your holiday destination for this year! Arode Nature Villa Bellevue.

Located in the hilly inland of sunny Bulgaria, only an hour south from Bucharest (or 1,5 hours from Varna airport), we now have this beautiful villa on the top of the hill of the picturesque village of Katselovo (Ruse). From the 1550 m2 garden you have a magnificent view over the forest valley and the town below, whilst you're only surrounded by the sound of birds, nature and the wind.

This smaller villa that sleeps 8 people, has a downstairs open-plan living-room with U-shaped kitchen, dining tables (seating 10) and TV lounge area with a double sleeping sofa. Upstairs, reachable by outdoor stairs, are 3 double bedrooms and a complete bathroom. All rooms have airconditioning.

But it's not called a Nature Villa for nothing, because its garden is the main selling point. With several seating arrangements spread over the yard, it also boasts a dining patio, swimming pool, sunloungers, hammock, outdoor toilet, sand pit, beachvolleyball / badminton court, firepit, barbecue area with terrace, covered pergola, trampoline, swing, darts board and ping pong table. Did you know that from 31.03.2024 you no longer need to go through customs when going to Bulgaria by airplane (from inside the EU)? Bulgaria joined the Schengen zone, so this will save you a lot of hassle and time when flying to Varna to visit Villa Ovidius or Villa Dionysus in Balchik. So great news!

Villa Ovidius has plenty of dates available in Mai, June and September, July only till the 8th and only 2 weeks in August (4-10 + 17-23).
Villa Dionysus still has a lot of availability, even in the high season. Want to enjoy the sea or our new pool, book now!

p.s. for travelers coming by car to Bulgaria: the border controls will stop at a later to be determined date this year.

Lots of snow last night in the Harz: in total 8 cm in Zorge and 20 cm in Sankt Andreasberg, where the pistebully is already preparing the slopes of the Skizentrum Matthias-Schmidt-Berg for the upcoming weekend (?).

Dronamics is soon to lauch their cargo drone planes to distribute goods all over the world at high speeds. A very innovative product.

So why are we posting about drones? Well, Arode was the official housing facility for Dronamics in their development process. Dronamics was in urgent need of accomodations for their development team, technicians and pilots and found in Arode Villa Ovidius the perfect place to rent for their 6 month stay in Baltsjik. With all the facilities they needed at hand, the team could spend all their vulnerable time developing the aircraft and did a great job doing so.

While Villa Ovidius in Balchik is already welcoming its 5th guests of the season, a few kilometers down the road Villa Dionysus is still under heavy renovations to make it ready for this summer season. Check out the photos to see the progress.

Villa Dionysus is still available this summer and sleeps up to 14 people. Prices are just 275 Euro per night for the whole house!

For those who want to know, the renovations include: completely new roof and gutters, fully insulating the outside of the villa, replastering and repainting the outside of the villa, repainting the whole inside of the villa, new front door, opening up the hallway to the living room, new living room door (to terrace), 2 brand new complete bathrooms, adding new shower cabins to the existing bathrooms, adding an extra boiler for hot water, replacing all bedroom flooring with new laminate, new lights, new light switches, new power sockets, relaying electricity, replacement of the TV and internet cables, and all damages repaired. New floor tiles in the living room, 2 existing bathrooms, hallway 1st floor, balcony 1st floor and balcony 2nd floor. New glass railing to be installed on the 2nd floor balcony. All bedrooms completely refurnished, new dining tables, chairs and TV in the living room.

We can proudly anounce that we'll be adding 2 more properties to the Arode holiday rental portfolio. They're both in Sankt Andreasberg, the highest city in the German Harz mountains with -according to Bergfex- the highest rated ski facilities in Germany (Matthias-Schmidt-Berg with 4,6/5 stars).

Ferienhaus/wohnung Harzensfreund (the green one) is located on the main street. It will contain 2 private apartments and it will open end of March 2023. 'Kleiner Harzensfreund' is for 2-4 guest, 'Grosser Harzensfreund' is for families and friends and can sleep up to 12 guests. It has 4 bedrooms, one bedroom/secundairy living room, living room, dining room with bar, kitchen and 3 bathrooms. If you combine both apartments, you'll have a house for 16 people.

200 Meters away is the grey house (which has not been named yet), which will open June 2023 and will be one big group house for 18-22 people. It will have 7 bedrooms, one huge living room, a large dining room, 3 kitchens and 3 bathrooms, along with a spacious garden.

We hebben Arode Hütte Harzilein in Zorge helemaal in kerstsfeer gebracht. Het knusse huisje is nu nóg veel gezelliger geworden en die beelden willen we jullie niet onthouden.

Maar voor ieder die nu spontaan wilt boeken: Helaas. Vanaf 24 december t/m 10 januari zitten we op 2 losse nachtjes (29 op 30 dec en 4 op 5 jan) na helemaal vol. 19-24 december is wel nog mogelijk. Of wees zeker van je zaak en boek nu vast voor volgend jaar!

Ook in de Duitse Harz wordt het herfst met al zijn schitterende kleuren. Oktober biedt geweldige omstandigheden om hier met wandelingen of per fiets van de natuur te genieten.

Vol trots kunnen wij aankondigen dat we binnenkort een nieuwe bestemming in Zorge in de Harz kunnen aanbieden. Buiten het pand dat we eerder al hebben aangekondigd (waarvan onze Hütte Harzilein voor 2 personen al verhuurd wordt), kunnen wij vanaf eind dit jaar deze grote vakantiewoning voor 18 personen aanbieden. Met een gigantische woonkamer/leefgedeelte/keuken van 170 m2, 9 slaapkamers, 3 badkamers (5 douches, 6 toiletten), 2 losse eetkamers met keukens op de verdiepingen en als kers op de taart een eigen Bierstube! Hoe gaaf is dat?
