Bom dia do Brasil!

For commissioning and training of our complete mooring system for the new built LNG Terminal de Regaseificação de São Paulo (TRSP), our engineers went to the city of Santos, São Paulo in Brazil. The terminal will accommodate the floating vessel “Höegh Giant”.

For safe and efficient mooring of this vessel to the terminal we designed, engineered and manufactured the complete FSRU system, including all double and quadruple Quick Release Mooring hooks with Mooring Load Monitoring and remote release, Central Monitoring System, Carry-on-Board system and Ship-to-Shore Link (SSL).

We herewith take to the opportunity to thank the project team of Concremat Engenharia e Tecnologia for their excellent job and expertise onsite, making the commissioning process run smoothly! Obrigado!

We keep on rocking🚀🚀! Finland’s LNG Terminal at Inkoo port, LNG terminal project number 3 in 4 weeks commissioned and ready👌!

With the coldest part of the year kicking in, our team of engineers keep on rocking❄⛄! In the cold and harsh environment of wintry Finland, we commissioned the complete mooring system for a newly built floating LNG terminal at Fortum’s Inkoo port, which is located at the Southern coast of Finland. The port will accommodate the floating LNG vessel “Exemplar” and will enable Finland and the Baltic region to be more independent of gas from the Russian pipeline.

For this project we designed, engineered and commissioned the complete FSRU mooring system, including all double and quadruple Quick Release Mooring Hooks, Mooring Load Monitoring, Central Monitoring System, a Berthing Aid System (BAS), Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and Carry on Board System.

De werkzaamheden bestaan uit het uitvoeren van service en onderhoud op locatie, bekabelingswerkzaamheden, opbouwen van projecten en het testen en afname gereed maken van projecten.

We currently have several impressive mooring projects approaching their final stage in our factory, all of which will be ready for shipment by the end of this month.

- 1st project: In close cooperation with our local agent in Indonesia, we designed, engineered, and manufactured 5 pcs of double Quick Release Mooring Hooks, including remote release and control panel. This project will be installed at a liquid bulk terminal in Tanjung Benoa, Bali.
- 2nd project: A complete (FSRU) mooring system, including Mooring Load Monitoring, Central Monitoring and a Ship to Shore Link system (SSL). This project is for a newbuild LNG Terminal in Brazil.
- 3rd project: A complete (FSRU) mooring system, including Mooring Load Monitoring, Central Monitoring, a Berthing Aid System (BAS) and Environmental Monitoring System (EMS). This one is for a newbuild LNG Terminal in Finland.
- 4th project: A 250T Quick Release Mooring Hook, which will be used for the tandem offloading system on a FPSO. This Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel was ordered by China National Offshore Oil Company Energy and Technology Services Company (Cenertech), to serve the Lu Feng 12-3 oilfield.

We can’t wait to see these projects installed and in operation at their end destinations around the world!

Earlier this year, this impressive 25 ton bow discharge assembly left our factory in Zwijndrecht, ready to be built on the Galveston Island, a new hopper dredger of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company.

The dredger is now ready to be launched and expected to be ready for operations in the first half 2023. Proud to see our product on this dredger, bright and shiny like a star!

Yessss, we did it! The complete mooring system for LNG terminal Paldiski in Estonia is commissioned last week and ready for use.

We are incredibly proud of the Straatman team💪! This project had a very challenging time scheme, as the LNG terminal needed to be operational within 6 months. Thanks to hard and great teamwork of all our colleagues we were able to deliver the complete mooring project for LNG terminal Paldiski in Lahepere Bay in Estonia even earlier than scheduled.

For safe and efficient mooring of the FSRU to the terminal, Straatman manufactured, delivered and commissioned all 150T triple Quick Release Mooring Hooks including Mooring Load Monitoring System and a Control Monitoring System with integrated PC with our MoorControl software.

Straatman will supply the complete mooring system to Germany’s first LNG Terminal.

The Wilhelmshaven LNG terminal project is located in the North of Germany, along the North Sea coast and will facilitate direct LNG import into the German and European market.

After our good cooperation with Depenbrock Ingenieurwasserbau GmbH & Co. KG for the Finkenwerder ship waiting area project, we are incredibly proud that Straatman has been selected to work with them again together with Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co. KG, to supply all 150T triple and quadruple quick release mooring hooks with capstans, berthing aid, environmental and a control monitoring system including our MoorControl software.

Another dredging project leaving our factory! This female part of a pinch ball joint, engineered and manufactured at our own factory in Zwijndrecht, has an inner diameter of Ø1000 mm and a maximum working pressure of 28 bar.

Pinch ball joints are used on cutter suction dredgers or pontoons, between the floating pipeline and the cutter suction dredger/ pontoon. The great advantage of this ball joint type is the easy and quick connection and disconnection of the floating pipeline.

In cooperation with our local representative, Straatman accepted a fantastic order for LNG terminal Paldiski in Lahepere Bay in Estonia. Since the terminal needs to be operational in Q4-2022 the delivery time was one of the main selection points of the local contractor. As Straatman still manufactures most of the parts in-house, we are able to meet this very challenging time schedule.

For safe mooring of the FSRU to the terminal, Straatman will deliver all 150T triple quick release mooring hooks, berthing aid, environmental and a control monitoring system. Obviously we are proud, together with our partners, to contribute to this impressive project.

When size does matter….

From mini, to round shaped and supersized. We can offer customized capstans that meet the highest industry standards, as we design and manufacture them at our own facilities. Currently, we are working on three different capstan projects, all specially designed to meet the clients wishes:
- To begin with the most specialized project. Our first but probably not last Solar powered ‘Mini Capstan’ packs a punch. In this project we were asked to provide a winching solution for a remote and powerless area. Our off grid solar powered system provides the required energy for a 1.5kW capstan, giving it a hauling speed of ±15m/min and a running pull capacity of 500kg! All this power is packaged in a capstan with a footprint of only 300x300mm, in order to leave as much working space as possible on the existing mono-pile platforms. The system also includes a light for safe working at night. To ensure availability of the capstan this system can keep working for 25 days without sun thanks to the durable battery provided!
- The Straatman standard, our round capstan, provides a strong and stable base for an 11kW drive assembly, providing an admirable hauling speed of 30m/min and a running pull of 2000kg. In this case the direction of rotation can be chosen by the operator to either clockwise or counterclockwise using a switch on the control cabinet. Anything special about this project? Yes of course, in this case the capstan will be suitable for use in a hazardous area, with the electrical equipment meeting IECEx - Class 1 Division 2 standards.
- The square type capstan, a special design required by clients who are expanding their berth. In this case all capstans are provided with a drive of 5.5kW to deliver a hauling speed of approximately 25m/min and a running pull of 1000kg. The capstans will be delivered with two foot switches, one for each direction of rotation. These capstans are also for use in a hazardous area, meeting ATEX Zone 1 standards.

Meet our new team member: A massive 600 metric tonnes test bench for the Smart Bollard!

For our brand new Smart Bollards, we have designed and are producing a testing rig. Just like the Smart Bollard, this testing rig is a one of a kind.

With full 360° horizontal and 0-60° vertical pulling angle’s up to 600 metric tonnes, this testing rig is a unique piece of engineering. This will be vital to test our bollards as close to reality as possible.
With this test equipment we can guarantee the proof load at all angle’s, without having to do a time consuming on-site load test.

Several interesting, challenging and smart-looking projects are ready for shipment to Chile, USA and Belgium:

- 1st project
In close cooperation with Naval Radio Limited and Saimec Limited Companies we designed, engineered and manufactured several quick release hooks, with load monitoring, powered by solar and 4G telemetry systems to transmit all of the important information to the pilots, and the operators in the control room. All units will be installed on buoys for the safe mooring of vessels at Quebrada Blanca, Chile.
- 2nd project
On behalf of ShibataFenderTeam we manufactured 13 pcs of free standing capstans to be used in a hazardous area. Coated in a striking blue color, these units will end up in Zeebrugge, Belgium.
- 3rd project
From our valued agent in the USA, Allison Equipment Group, we received an order for 6 pcs of quick release mooring hooks triple 100 ton, including UL listed, Class1, Div2 explosion proof capstans, to be delivered to their end customer in Texas, USA

Wij zijn op zoek naar een CNC - Carrouseldraaier! (40 uur)

Als carrouseldraaier werk je geheel zelfstandig en kan je door je jarenlange ervaring de aan jouw toevertrouwde machine programmeren, instellen en bedienen. Het product (wat voornamelijk onderdelen voor baggerschepen zullen zijn) bewerk je aan de hand van een duidelijke werkinstructie en tekening. Je kan daarom goed tekeninglezen en het vertalen naar de werkzaamheden die je moet uitvoeren. Je hebt oog voor kwaliteit, correcte maatvoering en werkt graag efficiënt.

Jij hebt:

• Ervaring met CNC programmeren (Sinumerik 810T)
• Een sterk verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel
• Ervaring met het lezen van tekeningen
• Een kritische blik. Je gaat voor de hoogst haalbare kwaliteit
• MBO-niveau, door opleiding of werkervaring

These are busy days for dredging companies! At the moment there are many projects and dredgers deployed around the world, and when the dredgers are doing their hard work at sea they require a lot of new equipment, as can be seen in our factory at the moment.

We are currently working on a number of dredging projects for various customers. To give you an idea, we are currently manufacturing: A bow discharge assembly Ø762 mm, 7 pcs. pinch ball joints Ø762mm, bow coupling ø500 mm, female part for bow coupling ø1000 mm, female part for pinch ball joint ø700 mm and a female part for pinch ball joint ø1000 mm. Recently we delivered a female part of bow coupling ø650 including 90 degrees bend piece wended together.

We are proud that all of the top dredging companies worldwide still find their way to Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands for their dredging equipment.

Capstans designed with the end user in mind.

At Straatman, we supply capstans as an integrated part of our quick release mooring hook units, however we can also customize our capstans to suit any application and/or vessel type.

Last year, we delivered fifteen custom made vertical capstans, executed completely weather proof and suitable for ATEX Zone 1 to our customer HES International B.V. for their brand new HES Hartel Tank Terminal , which is developed at the Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam. This terminal will offer storage capacity for petroleum products and biofuels.

The delivered Straatman capstans have been designed with the end-user in mind. Powered by an especially efficient IE1 class 7,5kW ATEX motor, they ensure a 25m/min fast and 15kN nominal pull strong hauling in of the messenger line. The capstans have been designed for ease of operation with two rotational directions and an instant brake, keeping the emergency stop reachable at all times ensures additional safety. The specially designed stainless steel 316 covers protect the components on the electrical cabinets against damage from the messenger line and double up as a protection against bird droppings on the buttons and switches. Last but not least, the C5 executed high quality coating ensures protection against the elements and makes for a sustainable product for years to come, which fits perfectly in HES Hartel Tank Terminals mission of sustainability.

The capstans have been installed at the terminal and last week we were invited to take pictures of the units in their new habitat.
