🌊 It was an action-packed day at Heidal Rafting last week! 🚣‍♂️

A great bunch from the team visited Heidal Rafting in Sjoa, and of course, we had to try out the rafting. We had a nice tour by the host, Ole Magnus and the rest of the rafting guides welcomed us warmly.

Heidal Rafting is one of Norway's largest rafting companies and was established in 1992. Based in Sjoa, one of the best rivers in Northern Europe for rafting and river sports.

As always, there's nothing quite like a good day of work outdoors in nature 💚

📖 Explore some of the history of JVB: 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀🏔️❄️

We're excited to share a fascinating part of JVB's history with all of you!

📝Since tourist traffic began in the mountains, it was crucial to find winter transportation options. After World War II in 1945, it was possible to buy tracked vehicles in surplus stocks in England.

The Canadian industrial group Bombardier had developed larger models that were very well suited for passenger transport, and JVB was given opportunities to purchase these. These vehicles played a crucial role in enabling winter communication and exciting trips into the mountains from Tyin and Beitostølen.

Helge Kr. Kvame was a pioneer in finding early solutions. Discussion in JVB's board about tracked vehicles led to this becoming a reality, with Tyin-Tyinholmen-Eidsbugarden being the driving force in this journey.

While the use of tracked vehicles has been relevant for several bus companies in the country, JVB is today the only company using tracked vehicles in regular scheduled traffic.
