Happy 17 May, Norway’s National Day!
For the Norwegians, the National Day parade is more referred to as the PEOPLE’s PARADE, as it’s mostly the kids who will be walking in the parade.
But THIS here, is probably the only MILITARY show & this kicks off the parade, first thing in the morning, before the King & the Royal Family take their place at the castle balcony to greet the paraders.
THANK GOD for amazing weather today!

This Easter, Norway has a CRISIS! Egg shortage this year ☹️ This YELLOW Norwegian cake called SUKSESSKAKE (yes SUCCESS CAKE!) is almost a must to make during the Easter holidays

This recipe below uses 4 eggs only. However, we hear that other SUKSESSKAKE recipes use 10 eggs!!!! I guess that explains the shortage ? 🧐

Popping Big Bird in the oven! Wanna know my recipe for my Xmas Turkey? STEP #1 I use #nigelalawson ‘s recipe. Soak the turkey overnight in warm water with 🎄onions/shallots 🎄garlic 🎄1 piece of chilli (if u will) 🎄salt & pepper 🎄generous dashes of any spice u like - this will allow the turkey to defrost better & give the turkey a more rounded flavour #yum 🧑🏻‍🍳 . STEP #2 The next day, I use #gordonramsay ‘s recipe. 💚First, I whisk softened SALTY butter with fresh dill (or dried dill!). 💚Secondly, I form globules of this butter mixture. 💚Thirdly, I press in those butter globules under the turkey’s thick skin & press them in & around the bird. 💚Let the bird marinate for a few hours before popping into the oven. For baking, it’s 30min for each kilo of turkey. Mine will be ready in 3.5 hours. ☝️So, U DO THE MATH! How many kilos is our turkey this year? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 P.S. Me looking fwd to have the whole house filled with ‘turkey aroma’. Who needs essential oils!!! Turkey aroma rules!
