Oulu, Finland - soaked up the Finnish sisu! Took a ride on a electric scooter and enjoyed beautiful green parks, water channels, floating sauna, sport and beach life. Also experienced a lively nightlife, Soumi Rokkia and beautiful sunsets.

Visited today the Tähtitorni Observation Tower - a pastel-coloured Tähtitorni Café, located near the Oulu Market Square in Oulu. The idyllic setting is full of interesting history. There I enjoyed a cup coffee sitting on top of the renovated foundations of Oulu Castle. This building was destroyed in 1793 when the gunpowder storage blew up. From the observation tower, I got a nice panoramic view, especially the observation of Piikisaari Island where a stone from the castle landed in the explosion. The stone is still there.

The sea fortress Suomenlinna (“Castle of Finland”), located on a group of islands near Helsinki, is a significant historical site with a complex history. Built in the mid-18th century, it has been a strategic military site for Sweden, Russia, and Finland. Rumours and stories abound about hidden passages, secret bunkers, and unexplored tunnels within the fortress. There are also tales of ghost sightings and spooky happenings in some of the old buildings on Suomenlinna. A ferry service runs from the Market Square (Kauppatori) to Suomenlinna throughout the year. The trip to Suomenlinna takes 15–20 minutes and offers magnificent views of Helsinki and the surroundings from the sea.

Shining lights, rock and partying in Helsinki in the dark autumn. One of the places where life goes on is at Zetor - a genuine tractor restaurant, also with a bar and dancing floor.
