Throughout the first half of 2024, members of our Oslo team have volunteered with Food Banks Norway, which works to redistribute the surplus of the food industry. And as these pictures clearly show, it feels good to help.

Many buyers in wonder if the I-REC(E) system will continue to operate in the country. After The I-REC Standard Conference (ISC) 2024, here is what we know and how things could play out.

One central question remains: can the GEC and the I-REC(E) system coexist? In short, yes. We spoke to Roble Poe Velasco-Rosenheim, Director of Global Partnerships and APAC, at The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC, who explained what is needed for both certificates to support each other.

The CDP 2024 reporting window opened today for all companies disclosing environmental and climate impacts. This reporting cycle, the non-profit is trying to make submitting easier by launching a new platform.

The platform merges forests, water, biodiversity and plastics issues. Climate issues remain a separate questionnaire, which has been updated to better align with the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) IFRS S2 standard.

Although this will reduce the reporting burden, companies might still need guidance to get familiar with the new questionnaires and to present the data in a way that delivers the highest possible score.

Yesterday, our Oslo team went out to Nakkholmen, one of the islands in the Oslo fjord, to do our part in keeping the beaches clean and the coastal healthy.

The Oslo fjord is lovely under the spring sun. But it needs help. All kinds of trash wash up on the beaches, breaking down to and posing a threat to marine creatures, birds, and humans alike.

So, as part of our Ecohelpz initiative, we put on our gloves and picked as many bits of food packaging, bottles, fishing lines, and other plastic rubbish as we could find. The team's spirits were high, and we felt we could even a little to a place we enjoy so much every year.

Thank you, Oslofjordens Friluftsråd, for guiding us on this lovely day and showing us that we can do important work outside of the office too.
