Please help share this message 🙏
I firmly believe that everyone that is going to climb an 8000 meter SHOULD have climbed at least one 6000 meter before. Preferably, even more than one, and higher. For example, if you want to try Mount Everest, you could climb Island Peak, Lobuche and Ama Dablam before.
Why? By learning how your body reacts in high altitude you are simply better prepared. You will know what to do in different situations and take better decisions when you go for an 8000m 🏔️
We know that climbers that are better prepared, cope better and are less prone to get hurt or die. In addition, well prepared climbers pose less risk to others while climbing. We all just want one thing, that the people who come to climb and work in the Himalaya, also get home safely ❤️
My brothers and sisters in the climbing community, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Allie Pepper Adventures, Nimsdai Purja, Viridiana Alvarez, Naila Kiani, Sajid Ali Sadpara, Dawa Yangzum Sherpa, Ming Temba, Tsering Pemba Sherpa, Urth-Adventures, Madison Mountaineering, Pasang Rinzee Sherpa, Nima Rinji Sherpa, Billi Bierling, Conrad Anker, Valerie Orsoni - LeBootCamp, Jon Krakauer, Sirbaz Khan, Lakpa T Sherpa, please, please, please help spread this message and tell us what peaks you had BEFORE your first 8000m.
Me, before climbing Mount Everest for the first time, I had been on Kilimanjaro, Lobuche, Putha Hiunchuli and Aconcagua🏔️
Thank you for sharing 🙏
