Day 9: Leave Reine at 8 am (breakfast at 7 am) for Narvik where we will arrive around 1:30-2:00pm and have a free afternoon to explore Narvik on our own or just leisurely walk around town and rest. Tonight we will have our final dinner together at a local restaurant. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

Optional Activities (to be booked on your own): Narvikfjellet Cable Car, Hike to top of Narvikfjellet Cable car for free, Narvik War Museum, Polish War Museum, Narvik Museum, Narvik Motor Museum

Day 10: We will depart Narvik at 8 am (breakfast at 7 am) to drive back to Tromso which should take around 3 hours and head to Tromso airport where we say our tearful goodbyes. I wouldn’t book any flights before 2PM on departure date. 2PM or later should be fine.

Day 8: Today we leave the cabin/guest house at 9 am (breakfast at 8 am) and spend the entire morning and afternoon exploring the remote fishing villages of southwest Lofuten which includes A i Lofuten, Sorvagen, and Reine. In the late afternoon, we will head over to the Reinebringen for our hike. Reinebringen towers above the village of Reine and is absolutely gorgeous. There is a reason why this hike is the most popular in all of Lofuten. Reinebringen is short but steep with sherpa steps leading all the way up to near the summit. After the hike, we will head back to Reine to have dinner. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

Day 7: We will leave our accommodation at 8 am (breakfast at 7 am) and head down the road to our next hike. Volandstinden provides incredible views over the western Lofuten coast. It is a relatively easy hike and is very rewarding for the effort put in. After taking some stunning photos of the terrain down below, we will take a rest and go have our lunch nearby at the small village of Ramberg. After having lunch and a short rest, we will then drive to one of the most stunning hikes in Lofuten and on the planet in my opinion, Ryten (10 min drive). Ryten provides one of the best views in Lofuten at the summit and is popular among numerous photographers. Down at the base of Ryten lies Kvalvika Beach, a very popular camping destination among hikers. Next, we will drive to our accommodation which is where we will spend the next 2 nights. After checking into our accommodation, we can go check out the Reine Lighthouse at dusk which is a stunning sight (weather permitting) before we have dinner in the evening. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

We can choose one of these 3 beautiful beaches to relax and swim for an hour or two. First pic is Vik Beach followed by Haukland Beach and lastly Uttakleiv Beach

Day 6: Today we will have a free morning to sleep in, relax, or even go into Svolvaer. Have breakfast whenever you like and we will leave at noon for Tjeldbergtinden, our next hike just make sure you have lunch BEFORE we leave our accommodation. After enjoying the mesmerizing views which tower above Svolvaer and the Lofuten area, we will head to the beach (Just over an hour drive) so have your swimsuits ready if you can brave the cold water that is. We will briefly visit 3 different beaches which lie along the same roadway and decide which beach to relax on upon arrival (group decision). We will spend about an hour or longer depending on the group taking in the scenery before heading out to our next destination, Nusfjord, which is about a 30 min drive. Nusfjord is another of many beautiful little fishing villages that we will visit on this trip. Get plenty of rest because the next day is a long one and the hardest hiking day. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

Day 5: Early start! We will leave the guest house/cabin at 6 am but not checkout just yet(breakfast at 5 am) and take a very short drive to Bleik where we will hike the coastal trail to Matind summit and enjoy breathtaking views over the sea. After an amazing hike, we head back to our accommodation for a quick clean up and shower and then we check out around 12 or 1230 and embark on a scenic drive to Svolvaer that will take your breath away. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photos. The drive to Svolvaer will take approximately 4 hours with photo stops arriving in Svolvaer at approximately 430 pm. Upon arriving in Svolvaer, we will spend 1 hour to briefly walk around downtown and take a few quick photos before heading to the very picturesque fishing village of Henningsvaer where we will get an hour or so to explore the tiny fishing village of Henningsvaer and then have dinner. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

Matind Hike – Duration 5 hours, Elevation Gain 408 m (408 m down), Roundtrip Distance 11.8 km (approximate values)

Day 3: We will leave our accommodation in Senja around 8 am (breakfast at 7 am) for a short drive to one of the most spectacular hikes on the planet…Hesten. From the summit of Hesten, you can get an incredible view of the stunning peak Segla. It is a photographers dream so have your cameras ready. After summitting Hesten and taking all of our incredible photos, we will hike directly to Segla summit taking in more views from a different vantage point. After a glorious day in the mountains, we will head back to our accommodation to clean up first and then head to dinner. Overnight at the same accommodation.

Hesten Hike – Duration 2 hours, Elevation Gain 520 m (300 m down), Roundtrip Distance 3.7 km (approximate values)

Segla Hike – Duration 3 hours, Elevation Gain 370 m if crossing over from Hesten (590 m down), Roundtrip Distance 4 km (approximate values)

Day 2: We will leave Tromso early in the morning around 7 am (breakfast at 6 am) and drive approximately 2 hours to Aspavatnet and Blavatnet Lakes. It is possible to swim (weather permitting) once we get to Blavatnet Lake but it is very cold so be warned. If you decide to swim, make sure you bring dry clothes, swimming trunks, and a towel. This is a proper hike so do not underestimate it. Make sure you have proper hiking gear (rain jacket and waterproof pants and water resistant hiking boots). This can be a wet hike as we have to cross several small streams by foot so plan accordingly and bring extra socks. After taking in the gorgeous lakes, we will dry off and drive to the island of Senja which should take approximately 4.5-5 hours hopefully arriving in the evening around 6 pm. We check into our hotel/guest house, get cleaned up and ready for dinner around 7 pm. Overnight in Hotel/Guest House for 2 nights.

Blavatnet/Aspavatnet Lake Hike – Duration 3.5 hours, Elevation Gain 200 m (200 m down), Distance 11 km (approximate values)

Day 1: Arrive at Tromso airport and check into accommodation on your own. We will have a group meeting at 5 pm and we will head out for a group dinner around 7 pm if everyone is on board. We will need to go shopping for breakfast and lunches for the next 3 days. If you want to explore Tromso, you must arrive a day or two early and do it on your own. Overnight in local guest house, cabin, or hostel depending on availability.

Optional Activities (to be booked on your own): Tromso Fjord Cruise, Cable Car up to Floya, Arctic Cathedral, Polar Museum, Polaria Aquarium, or just explore the city by foot.

In addition to this, I am a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) with CPR certification. I will always have a means of contacting emergency personnel in the event that an accident happens (God forbid). I have extensive hiking experience and have hiked various mountains all over the globe (Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Mount Cameroon, 45 US State high points including Granite Peak solo, 18 Colorado 14ers, Mount Baker, Acatenango, Nyiragongo, Pic Boby, Concepcion, Kebnekaise, Halti, Galdhopiggen, Mount Bwahit, Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base Camp, Kailash Circuit Trek, etc).

After having traveled extensively across 152 countries globally, one country stood out to me as the most mesmerizing and breathtakingly beautiful on the planet…Norway! I hiked the country top to bottom leaving no stone unturned and have put together an itinerary that are my personal favorites and some of the most beautiful hikes in Norway and on the planet. Don’t believe the hype about Troll’s Tongue, Pulpit Rock, and Kjeragbolten being the most beautiful hikes simply because they are the most popular among tourists. Let me show you the real beauty of Norway which is a little bit more off the beaten path but well worth the effort.
