Harbakkhula
Along the Norwegian coast there are several coastal caves where the ocean has dug into loose layers and leaving exciting caves to explore. One of the caves is Harbakkhula situated on the coast of Trøndelag. It is about 150 m deep and totally dark in the inner part. The opening is huge and has a fantstic akustikk and it has been hosting conserts. The cave is worth a special visit!

The Ladetrail
Along the coast to the east from Trondheim a walking path stretch for many km. The trail is winding and hilly and it pass natural areas, like forest, cliffs, beaches and grassy areas. It also pass some rural areas. The use of the land around reach back to the viking age. You can enjoy the path and and take a stroll throught this historical area.

The coast of Trøndelag gives good opportunities to enjoy the sunset and the bare sea-washed stones. See the boats pass and hear the seabirds sing. Some places are stony and other places there are sandy beaches like Hosnasand at Stokkøya. There are nice paths to hike on many tops around.

Right to travel and camp in the nature In Norway the right to travel and use of the nature is stated in the laws. Traditionally the nature was used for several purposes by locals. These traditions is stated in the law of "friluftsliv" today.

Edible plants
In Norwegian gardens there are three edible plants which are easily recognized. Ground elder, danderlion and nettles are easily learnt. Spring is the time for using them as food. They are good and may be used in soups,salats, green juice and pesto. Usually you want to take them away because they are w**d in your garden, but knowing the taste in spring you may leave the edible to grow in a corner.

Wildlife on an ordinary day.
Walking in the woods a day with a tiny new snowcover reveals tracks of animals living there all year round. Amazing to know that the roedeer and the moose have been just there maybe a couple of hours ago. And fun to catch the glimt of an active squirrel. Just take a walk in the woods and look carefully around you!

Norwegian uncultivated land gives you space and strength to enjoy the the nature. Here you may bond to nature. Walk in nature without meeting anybody and using plants, berries and nuts for your own food. In Norway this right to travel and use of nature is stated in the laws. It gives you some duties but also great opertunities.

In spring there is an unik oppertunity of making birchdrink. Tie a bottle on a branch and wait for the drink to fill the bottle. It contains xylitol and has a sweetly taste. The right time of year is before the leaves unfold.

Birch bark can be used to many things. It is possible to make boxes, baskets and scabbard in different variations. In addition it contains terpentine which makes it a good firestarter.

Our nice spot for Nordic Nights are ready for use after a snowy periode. Great views of Trondheim and the fiord reveals again. A coffe break let us enjoy the nature. A closer look show us iceart and a moosevisit.

On this time of the year, the contrasts in the nature around Trondheim are huge. In the forest the snowcover is close to 1,5 meters. The conditions for skiing and snowshoing are optimal and king winter is holding his grip. Along the coast the springsigns are starting to show. Willow, alder and rowan have p***y willows, catkins and buds. On the ground small leaves of strawberry start to grow where the snow has melted. Nature gives us the opertunity to choose our paths according to interests.
