The coastal road has been closed on both sides of Djúpavík after the road was closed on the north side in Reykjarfjörður due to a rock slide and fell apart on the south side in Veiðileysa. At least fifty people were trapped in Djúpavík.

On Road No. 1, east of the Skálm River, work has been underway to repair a section damaged by yesterday's glacial flood since this morning. The road between Vík and Eldvatn is still closed. It will most likely be reopened this evening.
