Namje Thumki Community Homestay

This is an ancient fort made by Sayok Hang, an ancient Limbu King, after winning Thebohang. Sayok Yak is called Sanghuri Gadhi these days. This point was an ancient strategic point of Limbu King. There are 10 stone rooms in this fort where army soldiers guarding this fort would live in. Still, there are some remnants of this ancient fort. Stones of this fort were brought from Fusre stream of Dharan. This fort is a good location to have good views of Dharan and parts of Eastern Terai.

Sanguri Gadhi is located at a distance of 6.5 K.M. from the Community Homestay. You can take the local bus, hire a vehicle or hike your way to the spot. If you wish to take public commute to the location, you will first have to travel to Bhedetar and take a 30 minutes hike to the location.

A western hilltop of Bhedetar Bazaar is called Shailung Danda or Charls Point. This hilltop was climbed by the then prince Charles of UK during his visit in this place in 1980s. Prince Charles was happy to see Himalayan peaks like Mt. Kumbhakana, Mt. Makalu. Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest. Likewise, Dharan, Itahari, Biratnagar and Koshi Barrage is also visible from this hilltop. It is said that all 16 districts of East Nepal can be seen in binocular views from this point.

Charles Point is located at the distance of 4.1 K.M. from community homestay. The location is at the walking distance from Bhedetar Bazzar i.e. you can reach the location within 10 minutes from Bhedetar by walking. Since, this is a view tower, you will have to hike for 5 minutes.

Dhoje Danda is located between Okhre View Tower and Raja Rani Taal. This location is famous for housing the largest banyan tree in Asia. The location is also best for viewing sunrise. You can also view the famous mountains of Nepal such as Mt. Kumbakarna, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Sagarmatha and Mt. Kanchanjunga. The hilltop lies at a walking distance of one hour from the Dhoje market.

Dhoje Dadha is located at a distance of 7.3 K.M. from the homestay. You can take the local bus, hire a vehicle or hike your way to the location.

Located at the distance of 15.3 K.M. from the homestay, Raja Rani Taal is another site where you can visit. The original name of this lake was ‘mawawarak’ and ‘pawawarak’ which is a limbu language. Mawawarak denotes Queens Lake and Pawawarak denotes Kings Lake. The lake is naturally formed lake where the water originates from underground. You can hire a boat to tour the lake. The calm breeze of the wind with the slow drifting of the boat can be rejuvenating for those who seeks the calm and pleasant tour of the nature.

Namaste Jharna is located at a distance of 13.6 K.M. from community homestay. The waterfall is almost 80 meters in height. The fall is located 8 K.M. away from Bhedetar Bazaar.

Aatma Ghar also known as Spirit of Place, was constructed by an American Architect Engineer Travis Price’s team with the help of Mr. Rajeev Goyal. Aatma Ghar is a monument that is constructed as a memorial for 113 graveyards of the ancestors of the Magar community.

Aatma Ghar is located at a distance of 600 meters from the Community Homestay. The travel duration is around 15 minutes from the community homestay. Since it is very near to the homestay, this place is the first travel destination while staying in a homestay.
