Tsum Valley Trek

Tsum Valley Trek Discover the secret Tibetan Buddhist land lying at the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys.
(2)

Tsum Valley is one of world's remotest Himalayan Valleys which was also a restricted region until recently. The trek to Tsum Valley takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges. The region once being part of Tibet looks completely different from what you will find elsewhere. The people of Tsum Valley or the Tsumbas belong to Tibetan origin wit

h their own ancient form of dialect, art, culture and religion. Very few adventure travelers have made it to this high and mysterious valley, which used to be an important trade link with Tibet. In the initial days, we trek the route of Around Manaslu Trek or the Manaslu Circuit Trek. The Tsum Valley lies on the northern part of Manaslu and used to be a restricted area until 2008. The region is still less exposed in comparison to other touristy areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions. The Tsum people have their own way of family life, which may be quite surprising for many outsiders. All the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry. The trek start and end point is Arughat, a seven hours drive from Kathmandu. The first half of the trek ascends the Budhi Gandaki Valley on good paths through a mix of dense forest, terraced fields and hill villages. As we leave the main Manaslu Trail for the Tsum valley, suddenly we get a feeling of entering truly into the hidden valley. While on the trek, we also pass through the alpine forests, glacial rivers, and enjoy the warm hospitality of ethnic people. Pass the lower Buri Gandaki regions of Liding, Machhakhola, Jagat and Philim. We also visit the ancient Gombas of the region such as: Rachen Gompa,Mu Gompa, Dephyudonma Gompa.

manaslu + tsum trek: day2 macchakhola - jagat (16,5km)
day of beautiful waterfalls and adventurous cowboys ????????
our first day as a group on the trail in the manaslu conservation area! we are five and the guys, my travel buddies and guides are extremely lovely and caring, we are having a lot of fun together and enjoying each other company a lot. plenty of stories to tell, plenty of experiences to share! ????
we all are actually very familiar with trekking and quite spoiled in terms of beautiful landscapes. but today all of us were amazed by hundreds of impressive waterfalls. gorkha seems to have best ones indeed! we came across five or six really huge ones: reaching from the top of the rocky mountains to the river buri gandaki. today was very hot and humid day (we are still in lower tropical climate) and waterfalls on the way were very refreshing points to have rest and enjoy mesmerising surroundings. also to watch millions of tiny drops coming from height - really joyful, calming and very pleasant experience.
our trail was today fairly tiring. Wolfgang calls it “nepali flat” - means the short distance on the map becomes triple of expected time and effort cause you need to walk permanently up and down ?????? of course you are rewarded with beautiful views and different angles but at some point feel yourself exhausted also. that’s why we indulged ourselves with numerous tea breaks and long lunch time.
the last part of our route today was a bit hardcore - we had to cross quite big rocky area which consists of very narrow trail. the trail leads through the dangerous landslide area, which ‘hangs’ above vivid river buri gandaki. on such areas one careless movement and you are at your last destination ?????? adrenaline level goes high for sure.
in the evening we reached jagat. we will spend night here and tomorrow continue our way up. we are very excited and very looking forward - according to our itinerary tomorrow we are going to reach lower tsum valley - one of our trek highlights ??????

FOR 2023
is the best way to taste the true adventure of the Himalayas. Dominated by Annapurna in the west and Ganesh Himal in the east, Mt. Manaslu is the eighth-highest mountain in the world. Every year only a handful of travelers visit this region making the trail less crowded. Even during the trekking peak season, you will not see many other groups. Manaslu Trekking will take you to the remote region of Nepal where you will get to see pristine scenery and vibrant culture. Trekking through lowlands, terraced fields, small villages, and gorges, you will reach the Manaslu Base Camp.

As the trail moves upward, you will ascend to the Larkya La Pass from where you will see an astonishing landscape view. Himalayan mountains like Annapurna Range (8,091 m), Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m), Cheo Himal (6,820 m), Ganesh Himal (7,429 m), Himal (7,126 m), Nemjung (7,140 m), Gyaji Kang (7,074 m), and Kang Guru (6,981 m) will decorate the trail along with several glaciers. Everest Expeditions Nepal have professionally designed our Manaslu Larke Pass Trek. With us, you will be able to trek stress freely. You can contact us anytime for further queries.

manaslu + tsum valley trek: day1 pokhara - macchakhola (9h by jeep)
our big trekking adventure has started! today at 7:30am together with Wolfgang, Bhim and Subash we left from pokhara to our first destination of manaslu trek - macchakhola 😍👌🏻 here we are meeting our local guide Namgyal in the evening and from here tomorrow we will start our long awaited trekking uphill!
the day we spent on the road, shaking intensively on very (!) bumpy roads of gorkha district. it was sometimes quite tough and dusty ride though but I guess after our adventures in the west everything is more or less okay 😀 gorkha is very beautiful and historical area. it was severely damaged by the earthquake 2015. maybe that’s why it’s quite rare to see here traditional settlements: vast majority of houses have already modern tin roofing and is constructed either with blocks or concrete.
the way to macchakhola is also very picturesque, leads you in between of beautiful hills, through valleys and afterwards along the river buri gandaki. the river is full of water and at the moment has a bit of milky appearance - looks pretty but also a bit intimidating. on the way there were numerous waterfalls, some of them so big and full of water that the sun rays created rainbows on it 🌈 very spectacular!
the area today reminded us our start of annapurna circuit last year - we also were starting from lower tropical climate zone and were witnessing so many stunning waterfalls on the way. the shortcoming of it is obvious - the road condition is sometimes extremely bad and somewhat dangerous, some ways are staying under water and/or were cleaned recently after landslides. it added even more bumpiness to the bumpy ride. due to it today was not particularly easy to make pics, simply too shaky to get the frame 😁
looking forward to show you the mesmerizing natural setting of gorkha 😍❤️

& PEAK for 2022
The Lobuche Peak is the second most popular climbing peak in the Khumbu Region after Island Peak. It too follows the classic Everest Base Camp Trek route up to Gorakshep (5180m).
Starting with a scenic flight into the high altitude airport at Tenzing Hillary airport Lukla, your first trek to Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery.
These locations are well known for their interesting past, locations and, in the case of Tengboche Monastries, stunning views. Still following the Everest Base Camp Trek we reach 5,550 m at Kalapatthar where are marvelous views of Mount Everest and surrounding high peaks. You spend the night at Gorakshep (5,180 m) and explore Everest Base Camp.
Our trail to Lobuche Peak diverts from the regular trekking route. Lobuche Base Camp is at Lobuche Village itself and High Camp is situated at 5,400 m from the sea level.
Highlights of the Adventure:
• The ultimate achievement of summiting Lobuche Peak and that too within a short time frame.
• Unparalleled views of the Khumbu Valley’s giants
• A great introductory expedition into Himalayan climbing
• Relish the grand feeling of being at the lap of the world highest peak- Mt. Everest
• Get acquainted with the unique and warm, hospitable Sherpa people
