Happy 61st Anniversary to the dazzling white floating castle (13th May, 1960).

After Covid Bucket List :-

Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek makes it to 'Top 5 best offbeaten Trekking Region in Nepal' recommended by PDN for travellers looking for a challenge. Trekkers require high level of fitness and a trekking experience in high altitude regions to explore this region.

Below is the link to Kurt Diemberger recalling his experience on the group's first ascent of Mt Dhaulagiri(8,167m).

1996 Sagarmatha (Everest) Tragedy (May 10-11, 1996)!

While on the attempt to descend from the summit, on 10 May 1996, 8 climbers caught in a storm died, making it one of the worst mountaineering tragedies. The unfortunate event raised questions on the exploding commercialization of Sagarmatha.

Four different expeditions had attempted to reach the summit with prolific and novice mountaineers. When a powerful storm arose suddenly, the climbers were trapped in a vulnerable position. Experienced climbers such as Hall and Fischer, both Everest veterans, could only struggle short distances down the peak. Celebrated author Jon Krakauer, who himself attempted to climb the mountain that year, wrote a best-selling book about the incident, Into Thin Air, published in 1997.

Our prayers for the departed:

"It is perhaps rather apposite that while Nepal’s many other mountains generate much-needed revenue, one sublime mountain remains untainted by the touch and ego of humans, quietly watching over the world from its sacred, solitary abode."

Beautiful words by - Neelima Vallangi

Climbing Machhapuchhare is forbidden, a rarity in a country like Nepal that has embraced mountain tourism so enthusiastically that even the world's highest point gets overcrowded.

Cycling in the sky?
How can one cycle in the sky?

Well, after learning this kinda weird term sky cycling, you must have thought that this must be one crazy activity that would crush you to the adrenaline.

Basically, Sky Cycling is an adventure sport where one has to ride a bicycle on a rope that is suspended in the air that includes all the necessary safety measures and allows the cyclists to enjoy the scenic beauty from the top while they ride their bicycle.

Sounds exciting right? So, when are you going to try this adventure out? You don't even need to go very far for this? Bhaktapur apart from heritage beauty is now looking to provide this kind of experience including Zipline and canopy at Ranikot, Gundu.

Stay tuned for more info like this.
