The Ultimate Descent

The Ultimate Descent The Ultimate Descent There are numerous adventures from all over the world who regularly come here to establish records and make illegal record attempts.

Considering that Nepal is quickly becoming the top destination for adventure sports, we have put together a totally Nepali team who aim to put Nepal on the Adventure Sport Map. There have been and will be more attempts of this kind by other nationals but we want to be the first and since this is our homeland, we want Nepalese to be the first. This will be the first complete descent from the highes

t place on earth to sea level. Our entire ascent and descent will be totally non – motorized and will involve any adventure sports like trial walking, Cycling, Climbing, Para gliding and Kayaking & Canyoning, all the way to the sea in one continuous expedition. Our trip will start from Katmandu. The first phase of the expedition is the successful ascent of Mt. Everest. From the summit, the adventurers will then Paraglide in a South –Easterly direction towards Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve through the Arun Gorges and land at Chatara in Sunsari. The second phase will be by kayak from Sapta kosi towards the bay of Bengal where we will be traversing more than 500 km of waterways until we reach sea level.(0 MSL)

The plan is to have a totally non – motorized expedition for the adventure, so they will be Cycling/Walking/Kayaking/Canyoning/Climbing/Camping and Paragliding till they reach 0MSL. The climbing team is supported by Himalayan Guides in the mountains. The river team will be supported by Paddle Nepal. The expedition is the final stages of planning. It is estimated that the full expedition will take 9-12 weeks between April – June 2011. The core team will be heading towards the Everest region in the first week of April. Our team will then be training in and around 6000 Meters up till the summit push around the 26/29th of May. Our team will then takes off and head in a South – Easterly direction towards the Arun Georges where there is very little commercial traffic for airlines. We will follow the river system up to Chatara where we land. From this point on the expedition will take on a sub – tropical nature where we will be passing through to India via the Koshi river. We intend to follow the river up till it reaches the Bay of Bengal. Once in the river we plan to be self – sufficient requiring no additional support. The Kayaking part of the expedition is expected to take up to 21 days. We have two main teams. A climbing team and a river team. Apart from which we will have a host of support personnel / cameramen who will accompany the team from Koshi to the Bay of Bengal.
