WHAT ARE THE MANDATORY FOR SCHENGEN VISA REQUIREMENTS?
What is a Schengen Area?
A Schengen area is; it is an area created by the Schengen Agreement of 1985 in order to abolish internal checks for people travelling between these countries. This means, once you get a Schengen visa to one of these countries, you can travel between any Schengen country without getting another visa.
What are Schengen area countries?
Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
Mandatory Schengen Visa Requirements
1) Visa Application Form: Some Forms are online and some forms are in Pdf format.
2) Passport: You need to present your passport, which should have a minimum validity of 90 days after the return date. You must ensure that there are at least 2 blank pages left for the entry and exit from Schengn to be marked. You can also submit the photocopies of any previous passports to support your visa application.
3) Biometric Photographs: Along with the rest of the documents, you need to submit a couple of passport size photographs, which are taken recently. The photographs must be taken according to the general visa specifications, like having a light background and 75-80% face coverage.
4) Covering letter: The details like the length of the trip, the places to visit, and arrangements for your accommodation are very important details. Hence you need to ensure that you submit a covering letter which has all these details with your signature at the bottom. This letter should convince the embassy about your plans, purpose of your trip, and most importantly, your plans on returning to your home country once your trip is over.
5) Flight reservation for visa: Since you’ve already mentioned your travel plans in your covering letter, you will need to provide enough evidence of your journey plans. For this, you’ll need to submit the flight reservations, particularly the return flight reservation. Still, if you’re not exactly sure of the return dates, you need not book the tickets before getting the visa. Instead of the actual tickets, you can get a flight itinerary from an authentic travel agency, such as Visa Reservation. The itinerary should have the dates, as well as the flight numbers, clearly mentioned in it.
6) Hotel Reservation for visa: Likewise, you also need to submit the details of the accommodation you’ve made arrangements for. You might not know this before, but you need to make hotel reservations for the whole period of your stay in Schengen, prior to the visa application. If you plan to stay at your relative’s, friend’s or a sponsor’s place, providing an invitation letter, along with their contact details, will be sufficient.
7) Travel Insurance: You can’t be certain about what emergency might come up during your trip. So, you need to have a travel medical insurance policy which covers a minimum of 30,000EUR. This assures the Embassy of Schengen countries that you have enough financial coverage for any unexpected emergencies.

ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS NOT REQUIRED, HOWEVER IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO CARRY ALONG AT THE TIME OF LODGING APPLICATION.
All documents must be originals and not photocopies. Submission of these documents does not guarantee that your application will be successful and you should bear this in mind when making any bookings.
If Documents not in English
If you submit a document that is not in English or Welsh, it must be accompanied by a full translation that can be independently verified by the Home Office. Each translated document must contain:
confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document
the date of the translation
the translator's full name and signature
the translator's contact details
If Applicant is Under 18 years old
We strongly recommend you submit the following information otherwise it may delay consideration of your application.
Birth Certificate or legal document (such as adoption papers) showing the relationship between you and your parent or guardian
If travelling unaccompanied or with someone other than your parent(s) you should provide:
A signed letter from your parent(s) confirming details of anyone accompanying you, and details of care and accommodation arranged in Schengen country.
A copy of your parent(s) or legal guardian's biographical page of their passport, which includes their signature and passport number if your parent(s) do not have a passport then you must provide another official document which bears their signature
