Sustainable tourism, also known as eco-tourism or responsible tourism, refers to a type of tourism that focuses on minimizing negative impacts on the environment, culture, and local communities while maximizing the positive benefits for all stakeholders involved. It aims to promote sustainable development by conserving natural resources, protecting biodiversity, and supporting local economies.

There are several key principles and practices associated with sustainable tourism:

1. Environmental conservation: Sustainable tourism aims to minimize the negative impacts on the environment by promoting practices such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and the protection of natural habitats and wildlife.

2. Cultural preservation: Sustainable tourism respects and supports local cultures, traditions, and heritage. It encourages tourists to engage with local communities

It's an absolute honour to work in the UK 🇬🇧 and Europe with IFMGA Mac Mackay Sustainable Himalayan Foundation Warrior Monk22 Krish Thapa Neil IFMGA

It is an honour to have Krish Thapa at my home studio on Wednesday 27th September 7:15-9:15pm offering monthly meditation practice to HINOKI guests.

This month, meditation will be on acceptance and 20 minute silent meditation.

Back in May, Krish returned from leading the team that took Hari Budha-Magar, first double amputee to summit Everest.

Krish started his early years as a monk. Through his service as a monk, he has practiced meditation and it has been his guiding light to spirituality, courage and control. Krish is an ex-SAS Mountaineer and has had the privilege of leading a 13-soldier SAS Mountain Troop, the largest ever UKSF and Ghurka summit team, up Everest. Krish’s mission: enlightenment through adversity.

Please join Krish for an evening of meditation by visiting www.hinokiforestbathing.co.uk to book your place.

HST Adventures is all about making awesome trips for people with differently abled. We think anyone can have an adventure without limits. We set up cool stuff like trekking, climbing, skydiving, skiing, and tours for everyone. Mr. Hari Budha Magar, a super climber, proved it by reaching the top of the world's highest mountain even with double-amputee-ablve-knee. We're a company with tons of know-how, and we've done loads of trips for people with different abilities.
Come join us for an adventure that's totally awesome and unique!

Hari Budha Magar and Krish Thapa

Conquering Everest and Conquering Dreams

2pm for 2.30pm Start
£10 pp

Refreshments on arrival followed by talk + Q&A in the Barns.

For all bookings : [email protected]

A Talk with Hari Budha Magar - record breaking mountaineer and the world’s first double above knee amputee to summit Mt Everest - and expedition leader Krish Thapa - former leader of 22 SAS Mountain Troop.

We are delighted and honoured to be able to welcome Hari and Krish back to the farm after a talk last November.

In the meantime - in late May - Hari has indeed conquered his dreams and reached the summit of Mt Everest, with the support of his team of Sherpas and Expedition Leader Krish Thapa.

Come and join us to hear their extraordinary story and welcome them back to the lower altitudes of Suffolk.

Hari and Krish have been on national and international news in the past few months, sharing their stories of overcoming adversity through challenges - with strength, immense courage and discipline.

We all have mountains to climb - some obvious and others maybe hidden. We also all have the power to choose to overcome adversity through resilience and the support of others.

The talk coincides with the launch of more seagull drawings from The Everest Fundraising Series in an exhibition at the farm.

See link in Bio for a fully illustrated catalogue. 50% of all sales after framing costs are being donated to Hari’s five selected charities - who helped him on his path to recovery.

Huge Congratulations 🙏🎉Posted • Every day it is still sinking in, that we did it! We created history! We achieved something monumental and proved having a disability does not limit your ability.

As I stood victorious atop the world’s tallest mountain, as the first ever double above-knee amputee to climb Mt Everest, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude to all the wonderful organisations and individuals out there who believed in my vision and in me to achieve this.

Without your support, this historic moment wouldn’t have been possible. Sadly, with the terrible weather conditions I faced, I wasn’t able to hold the summit flag I had carried up with me at the top of Mt Everest, so here is a photo from my Mera Peak Summit with my expedition leader and close friend

The design was created to show both my Nepalese heritage and my service to the UK as a Gurkha and includes the names of those who supported me through my Corporate and Public Summit Clubs. Beyond these organisations and individuals, I am hugely grateful to the 100’s of other individuals who have given a donation via my Crowdfunder.

Thank you everyone for the part you have played in this journey. We have made huge leaps forward in changing perceptions around disability. This is just the first step.

An absolutely inspiring 🙏 WE DID IT!!!!

Life is all about adaptation, Nothing is impossible.

Yes, we did it! We created history, a first of its kind!

The first double above knee amputee to summit Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world at 15:10 hours on 19th May 2023.

It took 25 hours climbing from camp 4 to the summit and then back to camp 4. We started 21:50 and arrived back 23:00 the next day.

The journey wasn’t easy, we had to make some tough decisions along the way, but we made it.

This experience has really hit home for me that if we are passionate, disciplined, work hard and believe in ourselves, nothing can stop us from achieving our dream. We proved that “Nothing is Impossible.”

This amazing achievement wouldn’t be possible without my team; - Krishna Thapa, my expedition leader and his amazing HST Adventures climb team; my family; my friends; ,my Nepalese, Gurkha, Military my sponsors and supporters around the world! Thank you from my bottom of my heart for your help, love and support which was overwhelming and second to none.

The mission doesn’t end here, it’s just beginning…. I said from the beginning there were 3 summits; raising the funds to make the climb possible, climbing Everest and the last which I will never finish.

This next mission is to continuously make awareness of disability and change perception on persons with disability but also inspiring and empowering persons with disability. This will be my lifelong mission.

I believe that one person can change the world with help of others. I will do everything I can to make the world a slightly better place.

Through this expedition, I am raising funds for 5 amazing charities who helped me when I was at dark time in my life. I aim to raise the amount height of the Mt. Everest plus two zeros at the back (£884,900). Please donate, even just £1 or $1 and share widest possible. I am sure there are 884,900 people who can support!

Patience but Progress 🙏 Expedition Leader HBF• Clothing is an important part of my Everest expedition. It needs to be well-made, lightweight, warm, waterproof and comfortable. That’s why I am so excited to be partnered by , a brand that makes incredible pieces of highly technical outerwear born for adventures. 🙏

And what an adventure this is going to be!

This Italian clothing brand has kitted out my entire team of 10 climbers, to ensure everyone has quality outerwear to use on Mount Everest. With its routes in the military, the outdoors and a senior management connection to the Italian Mountain rescue, Parajumpers really does share my passion for adventure. Thank you for supporting me and my team and keeping us all warm and comfortable whilst we wait patiently at Everest Basecamp.
